  • AS Biology - why such a bad grade? UMS?

Just got my AS Biology exam result, I got a D. My UMS was 29/60. However on the papers I scored 77 and 54 out of 80, my average percentage being about 65%. That is assuming I didn't get a single mark for my coursework, which I find hard to believe. In any case, surely 65% is worth more than a D grade? Has anyone else been screwed like this? Are Edexcel certificates not worth the paper they're written on?

  • Question about UCAS Personal Statement...?

I completed my GCSEs in 2003 and I'm applying for Uni for 2012. My GCSE grades are a bit rubbish, I mean I have 5 Bs and a C in the subjects that matter (english, maths, science) but my other grades are awful, E and G etc. The problem is I was suffering with depression and anxiety for my last year of school, and I'm wondering if I should mention that breifly in my personal statement. I mean I don't want to tell them my life story but I feel I should offer some explanation as to why I have such awful grades. I don't want them to think I'm thick. Has anyone else been in this position? What do you think I should do? I was planning to say something vague about having some personal problems but that I'm fine now etc, and maybe something about it being positive thing as it's made me more empathetic (I'm applying to study health care) Opinions welcome.

  • What's the name of this song?

There was a song on the radio back in 2005, most often played on Kiss 100 which my heartless colleagues forced me to listen to. Anywho, it was a different kind of song, just backing music and a girl talking....she sounded black...I think she was talking about her boyfriend (Mikey?) and possibly something to do with shop lifting and getting caught, but she still loved him. Anyone know the title/artist of this one?

  • Can SSRI Side effects be permanent?

I've just started taking Paroxetine for anxiety, I read that it can cause sexual dysfunction and I have found that I can't orgasm. Now I'm terrified that I'll never be able to again, even after I stop taking the medication. Does anyone know if this is likely/possible?

  • Does the birth control work with low dose antibiotics?

My doctor suggested I might need to go on a long term course of low dose antibiotics for rcurrent cystitis, and that he'd probably prescribe that if I get another attack. Since he told me that, I've started on the birth control pill. Now I've got another attack of cystitis, and I'm concered that my pill will be ineffective. I guess I'm hoping that low dose antibiotics are safe to take with the pill...does anyone know? the reason I chose the pill in the first place is because condoms are quite a problem for me and my partner.
