  • How much markup does a clothing retailer use?

If you own or run a clothing shop, your answer would be really valuable. The clothing that I am selling retails at €45 per polo shirt, I am trying to get an idea of the price you would expect to be able to buy it at.

If you could please let me know the size of your store and the minimum order you would expect to make if you were to buy that would be very kind.

    Thanks

  • Is it fair that a religion such as Islam can be created from nothing and spread through violent means?

I would really like some views on this...

The prophet mohammed comes along, being I gather a politician (we all know how much we trust them!) and a merchant and creates a new religion which he spreads as far as possible giving himself immense power whilst doing so, by using force and violence. This seems to parallel the crusades of Christianity, again using coersion and vioilence to spread the word.

Why is it that religions that are created from nothing (surely anyone can say that they are receiving the word of God?) and use violence to spread their message still survive when others that do exactly the same thing (Scientology, Mormonism) without violence stay extremely small?

Surely people can make their own mind up without having to be forced into a religious belief through threats and violence? I mean why should I accept Islam just because people threaten to harm my country because we don't? To me that is a way of spreading the "word of God" that makes no sense and just won't work in the modern age. Surely a religion or philosophy should spread by peaceful means based on it's message, such as Buddhism?

  • My cigarette lighter doesn't work on my 1996 Ford Escort?

    Hi everyone

I have just bought a 1996 1.3 Ford Escort, right hand drive. I need my cigarette lighter to run my sat nav as I work on the road but it does not work!

I have pulled it out (it is situated in the ashtray) and it is connected fine, I assume it is probably the fuse as the last owner said a coin was stuck in there which they removed, however the fuse is not located in the main fuse box (which is on the right hand side of the driver's seat) and I cannot find the phatmom second fuse box it is apparentely supposed to be in (I have removed the dash and there is no second fuse box above the first one!)

    Any help would be great!

    Thanks

  • Problem with wheel bearing on Citroen ZX...Mechanics please help!?

    Hi all

I have a Citroen ZX 1.9D 1994 model. I am having trouble with the left front wheel clicking when I turn left and the car is pulling to the right when driving, which is getting worse (as is the clicking - although it is only at certain angles when I turn).

The wheel itself has some give when I twist it. I have checked the CV joints and I am pretty sure it isn't them that is causing the problem.

My question is - How much is reasonable (in the UK if possible!) to pay for this to be replaced by a garage? I don't have the knowledge or tools to do it myself!

    Thank you for your answers!

  • How to cheer up a depressed cat who is used to going outside!?

I have recently adopted a cat from a couple that were moving out of the country and were going to give her away to a hospice.

She used to spend most of her days outside in the garden. Unfortunately I live in a second floor flat and so letting her out just isn't realistic.

She seems to be understandably upset by this, and spends her time looking longingly out of the window or looking at me an miaowing.

I have found that she likes to have a play in the evening which calms her down a bit!

Does anyone have any suggestions that would help her feel happier inside?

    Any honest responses are appreciated!

  • How do I find out the size of a market?

    Hi all

I am trying to do some market research, and have hit a problem when I try to find the actual size of the market.

I want to be able to say "In the UK, x number of y products are sold every year, to the demographic w at an average cost of v"

Or as much of that as possible! I am having trouble finding anything other than random figures if I search on google.

Any genuine help will be much appreciated!

    Many thanks

  • Please help me with my diet and exercise problems!?

Hi everyone. I am currently on a diet and exercise regime and would really appreciate some advise!

Background: wanted to get fit and to loose inches from stomach, am a vegetarian (eat cheese but no eggs or fish), work out for around 10 hours per week, mostly training Abs and doing weight training (as much as I try, I really loathe cardio training!)

The problem: I have lost a lot of inches off my waist and my arms and back have grown massivly in terms of muscle mass. The thing is I am feeling pretty tired and sluggish most of the time and the last two weeks my bowels have been reaaaallly slow, even with laxatives and is making me feel so sick!…

I tend to eat and drink:

    8-10 glasses of water

    Breakfast: Porridge with skimmed milk

Lunch I have something carbs and vegetable based (like pasta or potato)

Dinner: something Quorn (mycoprotein) based with fresh green vegetables, followed by some fruit and sometimes a yoghurt.

    2 red bulls a day :(

    Please help!

  • Anyone else sad about the decline in thongs...?

It has been reported that the sale of thongs and G-Strings is dropping rapidly whilst the sale of "boy shorts" has doubled in the last 12 months.

Now, I realise that the whole "thong above the waistline" look was pretty trashy, but it was in the minority, and as a guy, there is nothing wrong with a bit of trash now and then!

and boy shorts...they are called boy shorts for a reason! Not sexy, not sexy at all!

I know there is an argument that thongs are uncomfortable, which I accept if it is true, but all my girlfriends seem to disagree as long as you wear it properly.

ooooooh how I lament the fall of the thong!

  • Is the exchange rate between GBP and Thai Baht likely to stabalise in the next couple of months?

I am running a business that is soon going to be importing goods from Thailand to sell in the UK. When we signed the distribution contract, we based the costs on the average exchange over the last two years - around 64 BAHT to the £. Over the last month or so it has fluctuated wildly Between around 51 BAHT and 61 BAHT to the pound. When I was in Thailand in November, we were getting an exchange of 69 BAHT to the pound (we were exchanging whilst over there using sterling).

I realise there are a wide range of economic factors that affect this exchange rate, such as the sub prime crises in America having an effect on the liquidity of the UK money markets and weakening the position of the £ as strong economically. The cut in interest rates would have left foreign investers looking towards the Euro and the prospect of a recession, or at least an economic slowdown are putting people off of re-investment.

With all these factors in play, is there any chance of the BAHT stabilising?

  • Why do none of you like Anal sex (females!)?

let me start by saying I am not a desperate school boy, I am mid 20s with a good range of experience!

I have always wanted to just try anal sex with a woman, just to see what it feels like. I mean it is just something new for me to try! The thing is, all the women (which admittidly isn't hundreds but is above average for my age) I have been with are never into it. Is it something that is actually quite rare amongst women in the real world and just a myth perpetuated by porn, or does it happen quite a lot and I have just been unlucky so far?!

  • PS3 Wireless Issue! Please help...?

I have a US version PS3 (20GB) which I got about a week after release in the US last year. It was knocked about in transit and arrived broken and I just got it fixed last week.

First problem is that there are certain games (NBA 2K7 for example) that will only work once I have bought an HDTV, so I had to fork out for one of those!

The real issue at the moment is that I can't get it to connect wirelessly. I have a standard wireless ADSL router which works fine with my laptop, however I just cannot find the option on the PS3 to connect wirelessly. It works fine using an Ethernet cable but it is a pain because I have to move everying around when I plug it in. If I go under "internet settings" it just says "wired connection".

The other issue is that I can't download any demos. I can get to the page where the demos are, then click on them and nothing happens...

  • Please name these Hip Hop songs...?

I had a crazy night recently in BKK and am trying to find out the name of a couple of songs...

The first is a hiphop song where on the video they lean back and move their hands as if they are revving up a motorbike on the chorus

The second is a Chinese or Oriental sounding song. It has the line "live in Tokyo" in it and has some sort of oriental bells or something in the background

    Please help!

  • Solve this riddle for Top Answer!?

There is a man that lives on the top floor of an 11 storey building. Everyday he gets the elevator down to the ground floor to leave the building to go to work. Upon returning from work though, he always travels on the elevator only up to the 7th floor and walks the stairs the rest of the way. unless it is raining. Why does he do this (it is not because he needs the exercise)?
