I'm in year 12 this year (2012) and have been doing chem for 1 year, i don't understand it at all!, but the main thing i don't understand is, when in exams they ask you scenario's like jill reacted for example magnesium with chlorine to form magnesium chloride explain the observations, HOW in the world are we supposed to know the observations for every reaction of chemicals they give us?!?!?! i.e what colour the product is, is it solid/liquid/gas is there like something that i'm missing, i get this is like the 'fundamentals' of chemistry and even though our school is over i'm worried for next year, i'm only doing chem because i want to be a vet!, but i don't understand how we are supposed to know things

i'm 15 and i hate my glasses, this sounds weird but i like my glasses to be where they normally are meant to sit (nosebridge) but i have long eyelashes that often sweep my glasses lens dirtying it. I hate glasses not only because they are ugly but they are so annoying and i am sick of them I have had them since i was about 10or 9 . But my mum is a doctor, (an anesthesiologist not an eye doctor) and she thinks that contacts aren't worth it. Because she thinks that it isn't natural to have something on your eye, also she thinks the rate of infection is too high as 1 of her colleagues who has contacts got conjunctivitis somehow from them. So now she says She will only think about getting contacts for me when i am 18 WHICH IS TOO FAR AWAY!. I asked what is the difference between now and 18 as the infection risk will be the same but she didn't have a proper answer and just thought I'll be more mature blah blah. I don't know how to convince her, but the thing is I don't play any sport so i can't use that excuse, also the ridiculous thing is she pays around $500 nzd for my glasses every year or 2 years and i told her contacts would be cheaper, but she says she doesn't mind paying for the health of my eye -______- I have 0 idea how to convince her and she says the only way i get contacts is if i pay for them myself (which I can't afford). PLEASE HELP.

if anyone says i should try convince her that I am more responsible. I have no idea how, and don't know if itll make a difference

basically im sick of how small new Zealand is and want to go somewhere exciting. I want to do vet in uni, and the only uni that does it in NZ in massey in auckland so I would stay at home (i'm from auckland). I really want to experience things and want to go to the University of Florida and do vet school there? as an international student. how would i go about doing this? or is it really hard to go to uni in america from New Zealand?

My close friends of like 5 people, always say mean things to me like racist things and mock me and on a couple of days ago i went out with them and got a little tipsy.... and i know i was being annoying at the time but they weren't any better. But they keep bringing it up and i just want to forget about it and I have told them that... I know they're joking 99% of the time and when i'm ask why do you pick on me in a joking way so they don't take it seriously and i don't sound like an immature -___- they always say because i just take it which is true in a way. But i'm not the type of person who wants to be mean back and when i try it fails. I don't want to be like if they say something mean for me just walk off or be a drama queen, i don't know how to handle it or to not "take it" ?

does anyone know any short ghost stories that i can include? this is about a 3-5min speech so not long. or maybe interesting points or ideas of what i can talk about?

I want to start making my dogs food at home but i will have a store bought meal in the morning and a cooked one at night, usually we just been giving him pork bones and rice, i read the green beans and pumpkin is good for him so i cooked them all together, but he just eats the meat and bone and a little rice and leaves the veges.

On TV i saw lots of dog owners who prepare their dogs meal ? so i was looking for ingredients/ recipes? :)

but I DO NOT want a coffee machine as i hate coffee, Could anyone link me a product or a website or something along those lines of a milk steamer. ALSO i don't want those electric ones with the little wire circle thing at the bottom where you press a button. Does a steamer like I want exist? :)

i have a little sydney silky terrier, a mistake we made is we didn't introduce him to many dogs when he was a pup, and now when he sees them (any dog) HE GOES MENTAL! and barks and tugs on the leash. the other day we tied him to our gate whilst washing the car and a man with 2 boxers walked past and he went crazy and tore the leash (he weighs 5 kg and it was an up to 10kg dog leash) and we had to chase him to get him!. We tried taking him to dog parks -_- , we sent him to daycare during the days but he wanders on his lonesome and doesn't interact with the other dogs, and just waits for us to pick him up so that doesn't work. WHAT CAN WE DO?!?!
