  • 2016 NFL Playoff Predictions? Whaddya think?

    Here are mine:

    Wildcards

    •KC beats Houston.

•Pitt beats Cinci. Big Ben tends to step it up for the playoffs.

•Washington beats Green Bay. The Packers are a mess right now.

•Seahawks beat Minny. For those who think the extreme cold is a major advantage for Minny, remember Bridgewater is from Miami and hates the cold, himself.

    Round 2

    •Pitt beats Denver.

    •New England beats KC.

•Arizona beats Washington. No way Washington beats AZ. They've done a nice job this year, but AZ has too many weapons. Arizona wins this handedly.

•Seattle beats Carolina. When the Seahawks were in their extreme funk they STILL should have beaten the Panthers. They pissed that game away in the late quarters as they were inexplicably doing at the time. Carolina doesn't have the receivers to deal with Legion of Boom.

    Semis

•New England beats Pitt. I don't think Pitt has a strong enough secondary to keep Brady off the field. High-scoring game, but NE wins by at least two scores.

•Arizona vs. Seattle. This could go either way. I don't put any stock in the 36-6 whooping Seattle gave them last week, though I also think Arizona's win the time before was misleading as Seattle hadn't come out of their funk yet. Should be a hellofa game. I'll say Arizona in a close, close game.

    Finals

•New England vs. Arizona. Hard to trust Arizona these days in the playoffs, but if Palmer's healthy I think they take this. New England's healthier, but still hobbled.

  • Post your NBA 2015 Mock Draft (Lottery only)?

    Here's mine:

    1. Minny takes Towns (foregone conclusion

    2. Lakers take Okafor (they're not getting Cousins. Sorry Lakers fans)

    3. Philly takes Russell (he wants to play there and he fits their biggest needs)

    4. Knicks takes Porzingis (I still wouldn't put it past them to trade this pick)

    5. Magic takes Winslow (if Porzingis slips, they'll grab him. Otherwise, they could use a boost at SF)

    6. Kings takes Hezonja (Mudiay makes a lot of sense here, but I think Hezonja has the euro tie with Divac)

    7. Nuggets takes Mudiay (Great replacement for Lawson, but has the size to play alongside him if they can't find a taker)

    8. Pistons takes Stanley Johnson (they like him and already landed their stretch four in Ilyasova to replace Monroe)

    9. Hornets takes Devin Booker (they have a huge need for a shooter)

    10. Heat takes Frank Kaminsky (Riley will absolutely not take an unproven guy. Never has)

    11. Pacers takes Willie Cauley-Stein (this is a huge drop for him, but that's what happens when there's rumors of an injury)

    12. Jazz takes Myles Turner (front court depth is a need and Turner can actually stretch the floor some)

    13. Suns takes Trey Lyles (they need help in the front court and his athletic scoring fits their style)

    14. Thunder takes Cameron Payne (Reggie Jackson 2.0)

  • Who to drop?

All things being equal, non PPR league, who should I consider dropping? Justin Hunter, Jordan Reed or Kyle Rudolph?

Hunter has done nothing, but there's thought that he could break out at some point. Reed hasn't played yet, and now Rudolph's hurt too, but I don't know for how long. Insights? Thoughts?

  • Keeper League Question?

Standard League (NOT PPR) with ten teams. Each team gets two keepers, and then the option for a third keeper. The third keeper option is what's unique--it's more of a value pick. So essentially, if you choose to keep a third player, you lose your pick in the round before where that keeper was taken the prior year. For example, let's say Percy Harvin was drafted in the 12th round last year. If the team decided to keep him as their third keeper, they would lose their 11th round pick this year.

I already have Jamaal Charles and Montee Ball as my keepers, but now I need to determine my value pick keeper. Here's my dilemma:

--Do I keep Keenan Allen, who was undrafted last year? That means, I'd only lose my final round pick (round 16)

--Do I keep C.J. Spiller, who was a carry over from the prior year keeper system, so I'd lose a 9th round pick.

I'm leaning toward Allen, but there's a lot of talk about Spiller bouncing back.

I also have the options of Michael Crabtree and losing a 15th rounder, Matthew Stafford and losing a 5th rounder (not ideal), Brandon Marshall and losing a 3rd rounder (or first rounder after keepers...I think I can get him or someone of equal value there anyway), or Jordan Cameron and losing a 16th rounder.

Thoughts? Please back your answer with explanation.

    THanks.

  • Fantasy Football help...who to add/drop?

I'm in a bind. My season has been full of bad luck and injuries, and I'm at the point where--while I'm close enough to the playoffs to keep fighting--I'm not against taking a flier on a player.

That said, I'm thinking of stashing Montee Ball. Should I drop Mike James for him, Greg Olsen or neither?

I have Jordan Cameron at TE already. Thanks for any help.

  • Who should I shop MJD for?

I'm trying to find some value for Maurice Jones-Drew. I'm in desperate need of position depth, but I'm not certain where his value lies right now? He had an OK week for once, so I'm trying to sell him.

Who should I shop him for? Looking for WRs or RBs.

    Thanks.

  • Is it just me, or is the new Yahoo format just horrible across the board?

I don't mean to rip on Yahoo--I love Yahoo! I've been a regular Yahoo user (fantasy sports, groups, news headlines, email, etc.) for over a decade. But yikes! Across the board this new look and formatting is just so...amateur! It's god awful!

Keep in mind, I've been using Yahoo for a long time and in that time they've undergone several facelifts. I know people don't like change and there's usually push back when you make such attempts, but I never really have when it came to Yahoo's changes. This time, however? It's unbelievable, almost like they put an intern in charge of it.

E-mail is buggier (which I suppose will happen at first amidst a restructure), fantasy sports is convoluted and extremely text heavy and difficult to navigate, groups are a mess--it's extremely hard to find photos in a group, to shuffle through messages appropriately and impossible to get rid of that gigantic header and toolbar which both take up more of the screen than the content you aim to see. Heck, even Answers is ridiculous. I hadn't set my question so that I got updates when I got an answer and then had a hell of a time finding it again. I've got web background as part of my profession, and I know a crappy nav design when I see it.

...or is this all just me? Seriously, I'm curious. Do people prefer this new Yahoo? Cuz after 10+ years I'm very close to switching it up. What am I missing?

Thanks for reading the rant :). I know I got a bit wordy :P.

  • Fantasy Football--Help! Who to play?!?!?

Perfect storm for me this week and my WR situation ain't great.

Our league (standard, ten teams) has you playing two RBs, two WRs and two WR/RB flex options. I have Brandon Marshall, Jamaal Charles, CJ Spiller, so three of the six slots are filled. After that I've got Dwayne Bowe, which sucks since Alex Smith can't throw a pass, but I pretty much have to go with him anyway, and Justin Edelman.

The final option I'm struggling with.

I have Trent Richardson. I ain't playing him. He doesn't know the offense and Brashshaw will likely get the snaps. Beyond that...there's not much.

I've got Kenbrill Thompkins, Rueban Randle, MJD and Cecil Shorts. None of those are viable options this week (MJD probably won't play and Shorts is up against the Seahawks).

So I've resigned myself to dropping Randle, but who to pick up?

    - Leonard Hankerson (Only probably with him is he's on waivers, so I'll be cutting it close)

    - Marlon Brown

    - Nate Burleson

    - Aaron Dobson

Bleak huh? HELP! And if you can supply some justification, that'd be helpful. Makes me feel better, y'know. Thanks.

  • Fantasy Football: Who should I play?

I need either a RB or WR to fill in a final spot. It's iffy though.

    Should I play...

    - Trent Richardson? (He JUST joined a new team and won't arrive til Thurs. It's more likely Bradshaw will get most of the carries.

    - Cecil Shorts? (They're playing the Seahawks, though. Best secondary in the game)

    - Mo Jones-Drew (Playing the Seahawks and he's done little this year)

    - Rueban Randle (Third option WR)

    - Kenbrell Thompkins (he's done nothing, but I'm still hoping he figures it out)

    - Drop someone and pick up Marlon Brown or Leonard Hankerson? (If this option which one to pick up and who--of list above--to drop?)

What would you do and why?

    Thanks!
