  • Is mixing 2gb and 4gb RAMs of different brand not harmful for PC?

First of all, I'm a noob when it comes to PC so pls forgive me ;)

I bought a customised tower from a PC shop 8 months ago and they installed me a faulty, 4gb, brand-less RAM. As a result, I encountered blue screen errors, so I returned it since it's under warranty. Since there'll be job order and indefinite processing time, I just bought another 2gb RAM of my own so I could still use my PC. BSODs are gone.

After 6 weeks, they've finally given me the replacement. I installed them together and now I'm running on 6gb and when I run the Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool, it found no memory errors.

My question is: will it be harmful to my motherboard if I will keep using these in the long run?

I've seen on some forums that some people tried to mix different sizes, brands, speed, etc of RAM and the PC wont boot normally and they encounter problems. Mine seems OK. And most of PC 'geeks' giving advices say it is *not* recommended to mix them up, although you can mix it if one wants it. Are there any bad consequences doing such?

    --------

Anyway, I'm running Windows 8.1 Pro, 64-bit, AMD A4-4000 APU 3.0 GHz. I cannot tell my Gigabyte motherboard, sorry. It says 'To be filled by OEM' :p

    2gb:

I hope these info are enough...

  • Am I wrong to feel that I still hate my brother after decades?

First of all, sorry if the question seems like it doesn't make a sense. But here's my story. Please bear with me.

I'm 30 now but I just fully realise that I still hate my older brother after so many years.

I could say I didn't have a happy childhood. Like many little boys in grade school, kids of that age wants to just play, but every amount of time I spend with laughter with friends outside were repaid with tears through physical punishment. I don't know maybe I have an undiagnosed ADHD ever since [until now] or I was just very playful and naughty kid, but with every faults I made my brother would hurt me physically (with belt, with rod, slapping. My father wasn't being much of a father to me; he never intervened (because he's quite a man-child) and my mother isn't really a good disciplinarian. I don't know but she just laid all the responsibilities to my brother on how to discipline me.

His beating went on until I was 13. I still remember that I wondered if crying is also normal to teens my age because at that age I still cry everytime he would hit me. At that age that I learned to resent him. I always wondered how long will I have to suffer living with him. When he got married on that same year, I felt like I am the happiest person in the world! I felt being freed from the shackles of pain and suffering... After he moved to a different house with his wife, we've been kind of friends but I felt awkward about it. Our relationship in general is quite serious. We would talk but only to some petty stuffs and most of the time it's a serious conversation with many periods of silence. I was being nice and all but I get the feeling subconsciously that I'm not comfortable being with him anymore--it brings bad memories back.

In 2003, he had a life crisis and he had to live with my parents again. When I learned about his plan, I felt angry, uncomfortable, unsafe, etc, but I kept it with myself. It brought those childhood nightmares back again. But somehow it didn't affect me much cos I was away for college and I only go home on weekends. We don't have fights anymore throughout this period. We are okay-ish but still I have this feeling that I wish he would leave soon.

In 2006, he moved to a new house. Again, I felt that rare immense feeling of joy and relief like when i was 13! He lived there for 7 years and now he has another life crisis and he's here in the house again. :(

I am 30 years old but those pain after 2 decades won't go away! It's bringing those painful memories back. I can't take this anymore. He started living here in August 2013 and on that month we had a confrontation through text. It brought those painful memories of violent beating back again. Since August I felt angry, stressted, uncomfortable and irritable. It also makes me feel bad for the fact that I just started my career this late and I wanted to move to a different house but I am financially incapable.

I'm sorry if some of you will judge me as a bad person but I really have no sympathy for him despite all his problems in his life problems now. It's not that I am happy; I just do not care. If he'll be successful with his small business now then that's good. If in few years time he'll fail again (for the 6th time), I don't care. When his marriage failed in 2008, I just listened to his stories when he shared me but deep inside I have no feelings nor sympathy at all. I really do not care... When i shared this problem to my mother, she said that Im a bad, ungodly person for not forgiving my brother after 2 decades. Sorry I just can't help myself. I cannot teach myself how not to get angry and relax. I think I hate him more and more each day now and I just cannot forgive him for what he did to me. To be honest I'm not sure if this is PTSD-related or whatnot. All I know I still hate him and I have no plans of forgiving and forgetting for all the things he had done to me.

I hope someone could answer me this, or share their stories as well. I also would like to meet some people who had similar experience like this. Thanks.

  • I don't know why but I cannot "feel" the time. I know it sounds weird. Details below.?

It seems like time is passing me by so fast that I cannot feel it. Suddenly I would look back to something that happened in the past then I just realised that it was several months ago or it's been a year already though it feels like only it was yesterday. It's really a weird feeling. It seems like I'm a living dead, and I'm not making enough new memories lately although I'm a busy person and I'm aware there are alot of things going on around me. Also, I'm being haunted by my past memories that happened 15-20 years ago and they're all coming back and they are so vivid. I'm 28 now.

I just don't understand why I'm experiencing these things. I tried looking up on the web for answers and I found none. I also don't talk to my colleagues about this cuz I don't want to be misinterpreted. Hope I'll get serious answers. Thank you.

  • Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 2 -- many questions. Details below; help please?

    1. What spell that killed Voldemort?

    2. When Harry and Voldemort use their wands, why does it continuously cast a spell? ( I really dont get this)

    3. When Snape cast a white reindeer that guided Potter to the sword of Gryffindor, Snape was talking to Dumbledore -- Albus was already killed when Harry was searching for the sword, right? I don't get the timeline here.

    4. What for that he was constantly looking at the mirror? I know that's Albus's brother in there. I dont even remember how he got that.

    Thanks Potter fans.

  • I was smart(er) when I was a kid but not anymore as I grow older?

I was thinking that there must be something wrong in my head or that it must be a sign of a mental degenerative disease.

When I was a little boy, like 5 or 6, many people have already noticed my potential that I'm intelligent and very way ahead than the others. I was top in my class (kindergarten I guess) and I can I'm pretty sure I'm not studying ever but managed to make it on top. During my 1st grade, 2nd, etc still I'm not studying but managed to receive honors in the class, and yes, still way ahead than most of the students -- but not in the top anymore.

As I grow older I lose my "sharpness" in school. Yeah I became dumb. And those students who never receive medals in school are gradually climbing at the top, as I hurtle my descend downwards.

I also have some friends who are smarter when they were younger and not anymore as they grow older; I thought I'm the only one, and also know alot of people who aren't smart when they were younger but ended up with high honors in high school.

So what explains this? Is this a sign of something?

  • I think I'm a bad person; I'm very nice to good looking people but not with average looking ones?

I just feel guilty. I have a female best friend and she likes to talk to me more often and longer on the phone but I easily run out of things to talk with her I'm not attracted with her. But I'm very friendly, kind and nice to beautiful women and I'm willing to spend more time with them than my friends. Btw, I'm a bi so same things apply to men too. :(

I feel like I'm a very bad person.

  • Please suggest me a P2P app similar to Vuze?

I am downloading a huge torrent file but I only need a fraction of it. I like Vuze because it enables you to customise or manage which files only you want to download. Unfortunately, I'm having problems with Vuze and it won't download anymore the torrent I'm targeting for a couple of days now. Thank you.

  • I need to know the interpretation of Rev 6:12-14?

I have a friend and she told me that this prophecy already happened.

I ain't a bible scholar but for my own interpretation the "stars that will fall" could be nuclear arsenals. I am guessing there will be nuclear holocaust in the future that will cause the "black sun" (nuclear winter).

Please lighten me up. She said that the "stars"pertain to the fall of the Israelites in world war 2.

  • Will you "unfriend" a person you know personally if he's/she's not talking to you in Facebook?

I have friends in elementary and high school where they don't talk to me on Facebook whenever I comment on their status, photos, etc. and they also reciprocate by ignoring my status, or when I'm available for chat. We're totally fine when we see each other personally but we're that that very close like my bestfriends. Anyway, I just feel like they're just a burden in my friends' list when I try to search a friend. Also, I don't hate them but sometimes I'm not just comfortable sharing stuffs about me. So it crossed my mind to just unfriend them. Do you have the same experience with this too? Thanks for your responses.

  • Is it really possible that a person will never know what his talent is, forever?

I just asked this cuz I'm 27 and still I do not know what I am good at. I'm starting to doubt what most people say that "everyone has a gift". I think it's not true.

  • I drink 8 glasses of water everyday and is it normal to pee too much?

What I mean is that I find it quite weird because it seems that my body is not retaining enough water. When drinking a glass of water I really have to pee after 30 minutes but I don't have problems at night. I was thinking maybe there's not enough sodium in my body that's why...

  • I don't know what's going on with me but I'm back in my old self again?

I'm disappointed. I really hate myself, before; I hated my father and everything about him so, needless to say, I will have maybe all his personality traits too.

For the past three years I spent my time fixing myself. I'm calling it my "spiritual slowdown" -- It's OK if you will laugh at me, though. I wasn't living in a fast lane like most people do even though my friends started to hate or lose respect with me or whatnot. I didn't tell them about what I'm doing with my life at the time being. I have a work at home job but most of the time I have plenty of me-time to fix myself. I tried to understand my parents, esp. my father, their flaws, the way they think, and everything. For those years, I spent most of my time reading, acquiring wisdom, practicing self-control, being noble, mature, understanding, spiritual, etc. until I started feeling good about myself.

I don't know what's going with me right now. I don't know what happened but I think everything I had worked to become a better person is starting to undone. I feel stupid and ignorant and seems that everything I say is not making any sense, the wisdom is starting to sink or have already sunk in oblivion, and I feel like I'm back with my old self again. It's just disappointing cuz after three f***ng years it should be my time now to go out and face everyone with the new me.

If there's anyone who have been with this situation or understand my issues, please tell me why or share me what to do. I'm so confused. Thanks for your piece of time.

  • How can I prevent moisture build-up on a glossy paper?

I have few special edition DVD's that have external glossy cardboard covering apart from its jewel case and over time moisture builds up on the glossy surface and it's just annoying because I paid extra money for this special edition releases. I'm keeping my DVD collections just what the video archive experts said -- in a cool dark places. On the first few weeks there was something like misty condensation accumulated on the glossy surface when I touched it. I don't know why but I just ignored it and when I checked my discs after several months or a year, there were like trapped moisture inside the glossy coating and appears like rashes. Thanks for the advices. :)

  • How common is it if your "nationality by heart" is not your actual nationality?

    Okay. Sounds ridiculous...

I took a (funny) quiz online to determine what's your nationality "should" be and the results for two quizzes are that I am British. Before taking the quiz I've been wondering ever since if I "really belong" to my native country. I'm from the Philippines but the way I act is not a typical home towner you can normally observe here.

Look, I ain't pretentious or ambitious Brit-wanna be or something. I don't watch British TV shows except for only BBC World News, I don't know their history nor read stuffs about Britain that may possibly influence me, and finally I'm not obsessed about Britain.

  • What is the chance of winning the jackpot if you choose the winning combination from other countries?

I've been playing the lottery for 3 years now and still a loser. :) I'm just wondering if choosing a winning combination from other countries of the same game will be useful and helpful enough to hit the jackpot in my country?

I read from a news that a Canadian won 300mn+ and his number was 5-11-20-30-37-43. The game was 6/45, same as what I am playing here. When I checked the history of past winning numbers in my country the closest number that came out to that was 5-11-19-29-37-43.

So, any experts advice here? LOL! Cuz I am guessing that if my number has already came out in other countries it's highly improbable that it will came out here too.

  • How near should surround speakers be placed from the sweet spot?

I read in some forums that others are placing it 3 feet away from their 'sweet spot'. Is this too near? I also notice in Dolby and THX illustrations for 5.1 that surrounds are placed nearer than the fronts. Thanks.
