2 AnswersPC6 months agowhy are there no historical writings that deny the truth of the Gospels?
as noted many times on this forum early historians mention a Christus and his follwers but none deny the content of the gospels, if they were not true then the writers of the day, as in our time, would have condemned them as false.
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 months agois osas true?
from Grace thru faith teaching.
the language of Ephesians 1:13-14 tells the story. Paul chose words that have legal implications for God. Take the phrase “as a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance”. The literal translation of the phrase “deposit guaranteeing” is “money which in purchases is given as a pledge or down payment that the full amount will subsequently be paid”.
This word is only used 3 times in the New Testament, in Ephes. 1:13-14, 2 Cor. 1:22, and 2 Cor. 5:5 . All 3 times Paul was describing the seal of the Holy Spirit. So here’s the deal. When you first believed, God sealed His Holy Spirit within you as an earnest money deposit, a guarantee that He was purchasing you, and obligating Himself to follow through. He was also taking you off the market so that no one else (Satan) could have you.
By reading these three passages you can see that there are no subsequent performance clauses for you to meet. If He should break the seal for any reason, you would have a legal claim against Him for non-performance. So you have the word of One who cannot lie that He has unconditionally accepted you forever. This is why Paul said, “You are not your own. You were bought at a price” (1 Cor 6:19-20). Not even we can break the seal.
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality7 months agowhat's the difference between liberal's and conservatives? ?
not much really as long as you discount the radicals of both sides, whose main purpose is to dictate to others. the main difference is how they want to help people, cons want them to work for what they get, libs want the government to give it to them for nothing. a good example of too much liberalism is S.F. Ca.

2 AnswersTVs2 years agowhy was slavery in the Bible?
Suppose you were a pagan slave holder around 3000 BC. you have no rules as to how to treat your slaves so, you do whatever you want, torture, beat to death, rape and even skin alive for amusement. Then along come these Hebrews with rules and regulations. the reason, I think, was to give an example to the pagans as to how slaves should be treated.
17 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 years agoclimate warming?
This is alarming.
The Arctic Ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places the seals are finding the water too hot according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday from the Consulate at Bergen, Norway.
Reports from fishermen, seal hunters and explorers all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard of temperatures in the Arctic zone.
Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met as far north as 81 degrees 29 minutes.
Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the gulf stream still very warm.
Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many points well known glaciers have entirely disappeared.
Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic, while vast shoals of herring and smelts which have never before
ventured so far north, are being encountered in the old seal fishing grounds.
Within a few years it is predicted that due to the ice melt the sea will rise and make most coast cities uninhabitable.
I must apologize. I neglected to mention that this report was from November 2, 1922, as reported by the AP and published in The Washington Post 96 years ago. This must have been caused by the Model T Ford's emissions or possibly from horse and cattle farts.
