  • Need help with buying cigar lighter for Christmas gift!?

I want to buy a nice lighter for my bf for Christmas. I have gone back and forth on what to get. I know that cigars should be lit only with a butane lighter, but I will say he smokes far more many cigarettes than cigars, but he does really enjoy cigars occasionally. If I get a nice butane cigar lighter (double flame) can he use it for cigarettes too or is that stupid?

    Thanks!!

  • Do both renters have to sign for one to get off the lease?

The lease is up in December, and is month to month after. If I give my 30 day notice, does my roommate have to consent to me being off the lease? Both of our names are on it, and we are not on the best terms right now, so just wondering if she'd have to sign too.

I am trying to figure out if I come to the UK on the tier 5, if I would be allowed to look for a job while there when my visa is complete.

  • Anyone else gone "crazy" on Yaz?

I've been on Yaz for about 2 years now. I was on other bc pills before this for years, and always had bad acne. So I went on Yaz and my acne cleared up. But now after all this time, I started noticing about 5-6 months ago that "that time" is really painful and I am also going crazy! I cry ALL the time. I feel depressed at times and then really happy at others. My feelings at times are completely irrational. I didn't realize until recently it could be my birth control. Has anyone else had this problem with Yaz and if so, what did you do about it?

  • How do you feel about mixing yellow and white gold jewelry?

I have a yellow gold wedding band that belonged to my grandmother, all my jewelry is yellow gold, and the way I see it, one day I will inherit my mom's jewelry which is all yellow gold as well. But, for some reason I really like engagement rings set in white gold. I know I can get the band I have dipped in white gold, but do you think it looks weird when you have two colors going on?

  • Buying Mary Kay? Did prices go up?

I have a friend who is selling Mary Kay and just went to her consultant website on Mary Kay. 3-4 years ago I purchased some Mary Kay products and loved them-one was a dual-color eyeshadow I think called "cotton candy," and the other was the creme-to-powder foundation. I think I paid $6-8 for the eyeshadow and $6 for the foundation. When I went online today I couldn't find the dual-colored eyeshadow anywhere and the single colors were $6.50 and the foundation was now $14! Is this normal? Does anyone else know if they raised their prices?

    Thanks!

  • How to tell a friend "no?"?

Recently I have a friend that got a DUI and now she can't drive for 6 months. I have a 9-5 M-F job on the "other" side of town (about 10-15 from my house) which is the same side of town she works on. We live on the same street, and her work is about 2 minutes drive from mine. Starting a couple of weeks ago, she began asking me to pick her up. The problem is she doesn't get off till 5:30, so unless I have a lot of work to do, I am sitting around for an extra 30 minutes everyday. The week it began I was working extra for a co-worker who was on vacation, so it ended up being that I only waited on her for about 10 minutes. Now every afternoon, she is texting me to pick her up, how do I tell her no? All of our other friends would have to go out of their way to pick her up, and I feel selfish for wanting to go home when I get off at 5. When I pick her up I basically don't get home till 6, and that one hour makes a difference. What would you do?

  • Can you split satellite (DirecTv) with one receiver in two rooms?

Moving and only have one cable cord upstairs, but two bedrooms. We were going to get cable and just get a splitter, but roommate has contract with DirecTv. Is there a way to get one box upstairs and split it? Or a way to have a box in both rooms? How much would it cost if there is a way to split it? Thanks!

  • Do you think Jon and Kate would split if they wouldn't have been on TV?

I remember her saying something in the show last nite about how they would have split being in the public eye or not. I find this hard to believe, but was interested in other's opinions on this one. To me, they may have had problems, but these problems have probably escalated even more because of the paparazzi. I almost, ALMOST want to say it is their own fault for subjecting their family to this. But I guess when they signed a contract they didn't know it would kill their marriage. What do you guys think?

  • How much do you tip bartenders?

I usually tip bartenders 20% and anything that equals out to less than 3 bucks tip (like 1 or 2 beers) I tip $3. Someone told me once I was being cheap and you should always tip bartenders 40-50%?! I thought that was ridiculous, and at times think it's ridiculous that I give them 3 bucks for handing me a bottled beer. But just like eating in a restaurant, I think any tip left that is less than 3 bucks as 20% of a meal is horrible etiquette (If my meal is only $8, I'm not going to tip $1.60.) What do other people recommend?

  • Is my tanning salon safe/normal? What about tanning lotion?

I am wondering if my tanning salon is safe. I have noticed that some of the beds have large cracks in the plexiglass on top. I asked about it and the lady told me that was normal...I don't really believe her. You also have to clean your own bed...makes me wonder how really clean the beds are. Would you recommend finding a different salon? I don't really know what to look for in a tanning bed. Also, do tanning lotions help? A friend told me it made tanning beds safer? I didn't think that was possible. Thanks so much!

  • I'm thinking of taking cat home for Christmas-parents have cat too-what do I do?

Parents only live 40 minutes away and I grew up with their cat. My cat is well behaved and loves to play outside. He doesn't even use his litter box anymore-just waits to go outside. I'm worried parents cat may be territorial. Thanks for help.
