Are there any other news sites that have written stories (not just inflammatory, misleading headlines) besides Yahoo News?
Yahoo News used to be pretty good entertainment, but not anymore. Now the same stories appear three or four times and most of the time, an automatically playing video will interrupt the music I am already listening to. This is a serious question. I used to laugh at the comments but now the stories just plain suck (when a story has even been written).

Is it true that the staghorn fern on a tree in my backyard is something special?
There is this bulbous, almost fungi-like growth about three feet in diameter growing on a tree in my back yard and my Mother told me that it should be prized, I am lucky and to feed it banana peels. Is that true, or is she pulling my leg?

How can two slightly different shades of color of a hardwood floor be made to match one another?
I just bought a house that had two large area rugs over the top of the hardwood floors in the living room and dining room. When I took up the rugs, I noticed that the shade of color of the wood under the rugs is slightly lighter than the wood that was not ever covered up.
Also, there was a lot of very fine grit that must have worked its way through the rugs over the years. Did this grit basically sand the floors under the rugs and that's the reason for the color difference?
Other than completely sanding the entire floor, re staining, refinishing, etc... Is there a way to blend the areas so that the difference is not so immediately noticeable (mostly at the areas where the borders of the rugs were)?
Has anybody ever had this problem? If so, how did you fix it?

My mother recently tried to send an image to me but could apparently do so only as a .jpg.
Any scanner I have ever used in my life has always had the option to scan as a .pdf.

Okay, so I bought a five quart plastic jug o’ motor oil, one with a plastic screw-on top. I poured probably half of it into the engine, screwed the lid back on tightly and put the jug into the trunk. As if by magic the lid became unscrewed and now, I get to clean up this mess from out of the carpet and the particle board backing of the spare tire cover.
Oh, yeah there's also a huge puddle of oil in the spare tire well. Thank you!

I want to buy a used car that is not a convertible and want to steer clear of getting something that is a chick car. Everybody knows about certain SUVs and minivans so what I am asking is about cars only. Really, going back to the days when Volkswagen Cabrios and Lebaron convertables were the epitome of girlish cars, what should I shy away from other than Miatas (and convertibles in general)? Thank you, this is a serious question.
