  • Can someone help me describe a car accident scene?

I've never been in a car accident before, thankfully, and I've only written about a minor one once, so I'm completely at a loss on how to describe a bad car accident for my book.

So the situation is like this:

My main character is driving home one night from work and she gets distracted by her radio as she changes the station. She ends up running a red light and realizes this due to the red glow from the light outside reflecting into the car. Before she can react, she's t-boned by a speeding moving-truck (he was going 75 in a 45 zone . I expect that the car will flip, and I'm aware of the sound of screeching tires and glass and of course the crunching sound of the car. I don't want the accident to be fatal, but critical enough in a way that it's a miracle she lived after requiring to go to the ER.

I need help describing this accident in detail in a way the readers wouldn't expect it just like she didn't. The story is in first person, so that makes it all the more harder for me.

  • If a king dies (his wife, the queen is still alive) and he has a son, would that make him king?

Okay, so let's set up a scenario. If a reigning king dies, his wife the queen consort is still alive, and they have a son, would the son become king? or would the queen reign? Also, if the prince becomes king, despite his mother's survival, what would that make the wife of the former prince (now king)? Would she be queen or would she take another title. And if she takes the title of queen, what would the former queen be called?

Also, i don't know if this makes a difference but the prince is definitely at the age to rule the country.

    Thank you in advance! :)

  • What are some really dark things?

I want to say someone is as "bright as a ____" in order to say sarcastically that someone isn't very bright. So i wanted to know some generally dark things, or dark related things. Things that people would automatically know is dark.

    Thank you in advance! :)

  • How to write an emotional death scene in a book?

Okay, Y! Answers, you people have been so helpful with helping me with my book, so I'm here to ask another question. Here's the scenario.

My lead character just found out her best friend died of illness (main character was trying to get the medicine to save her, but ended up being too late.) my mc (main character) was still away when she got the news. Please help me with the reaction.

So far i have it where she collapses in shock, of course is crying, but this reaction doesn't seem to really hug the heart strings. i mean, you feel bad for her, but i don't want my readers to feel pity for her. I want them to feel genuine sadness for the death of the best friend.

This is the second book in the series, and the readers have had a chance to really get to know her in the first, and even get sort of attached to her, but this reaction from her dying seems a little weak too me. Can you all help?

    Thank you all in advance!

ALSO, i don't know if I should end up making it a false alarm or actually leave the character dead. Like after the reaction a few days later, mc finds out that miraculously her friend healed (i know far-fetched), but i know it would make some readers happy.

OR, should i leave the best friend dead? (idk if this helps, but in the last book, the mc's witnesses her mother's murder, and this second book occurs four months after that.)

Once again, thank you in advance! :)

    .

  • Question about Royalty? PLEASE HELP!!?

If a prince is crowned king after his father dies, but his mother, the queen, is still alive, what would that make the prince's bride?

For instance, let's say there was a king ruling England, and Queen Elizabeth was a queen consort, and the king died. Prince William would be crowned king (if it were a king-only sort of country), what would Kate be? Would she be the new queen? or would she stay princess?

    PLEASE HELP!!

  • I want to write a realistic death scene.?

My main character's (Violet) mother is murdered in the first chapter and Violet comes in as it happens. I want the imagery to be as realistic as possible.

I don't mind being a little visual. I know that it's best not to use too much imagery when writing a death scene, but I want it to be realistic.

If someone is stabbed in the stomach about two or three inches above the navel, what is most likely to happen? Will blood sputter from the mouth? will there be quick and excessive bleeding, and if so how long would it take for the victim to die? I don't want there to be enough time to call the police. Please give me a descriptive summery of what would happen.

    Thank you in advance :)

  • if there's no gravity on earth, why don't austronauts float away when they're standing on the moon?

I wanted to know this because sometimes I believe people have never actually visited the moon. I think they're just feeding lies into our heads. But if there's an answer, I might rethink this
