what can I do if someone is illegally using my address?
This is a bit long winded, sorry. I had an ex partner who was also my full time, live in carer. He just left one day when I was asleep! No note. Havn't heard from him since. This was back in June of this year. We were together 5 years. He was a compulsive liar anyway. What I want to know is, what can I do about him illegally using my address?? Which he is still doing. I've spoken to the Police. Not much help. I write on the letters, return to sender. But they still come. Now, I've opened a couple. Yes, I know, I'm not supposed to. But a couple were from his bank. So, I wrote and told them he doesn't live here anymore and has no right to be using my address. He is overdrawn so they are chasing him for that. Yesterday, one came from his mobile phone provider. He owes them £200. and now a debt agency is after him. I've written to them, to explain. I'm worried baliffs are going to turn up. Or, my address will be blacklisted. I have a very good credit rateing with no debts. I read on line, someone said, the post office don't bother to return letters to the sender?? I am disabled and this is very stressful, as I am bed bound. He owes the CSA over £10,000. and is wanted for fraud with the DWP. so, I wrote to them. Any advice would be welcome please. thank you.
3 AnswersLaw & Ethics9 years agoBenefit Fraud. JSA. In the UK?
I have just found out that someone I know. Who has been claiming JSA. Job seekers Allowance. For about 2 years now. (This is in the UK). So, only want answers from the UK please. He is French. But has a French passport. And has lived here for well over 20 years.
About 3 months ago, his parents house in France was sold. They both died last year. Well, he received about £27000. And he never told the DWP about the money. He's had it in the Bank since receiving it. So, if he is reported. Will they do anything to him?? I've heard, they don't bother much, when people report it. OR, it takes ages to get around to it??
What, if he leaves the country and go's back to France to live?? Will, he escape punishment. If, they don't know where he is?? And doesn't sign on again. Although he has 4 chilren and 2 Grandchildren, in this country. But, doesn't bother with them, that much.
He's done a dissapearing act. No one knows where he is. Although I think his eldest son has had texts from him.
Also, he hasn't paid money to the CSA for years. And, owes them about, £8000.
By rights, surely, he should have to pay that, out of this money?
He has a secret bank account.
I think, he is going to get away with this fraud. If, he doesn't sign on again.
Or, waits untill he only has £16000 left. Which, I was told, by the DWP. Is the amount you are allowed to have. Before it affects your Benefits.
He could be living in a squat. Which, he has done in the past.
So, no one. will no where he is If, he's not claiming housing or council tax benefit.. And, will slip under the radar???

4 AnswersOther - Car Makes1 decade agofollow upto my ex won't return my house and car keys.?
Hi, thank you for all the answers I've had already. I have contacted him loads of times, by letter and text. He won't respond. He doesn't have the car, I do. so I can't say it's stolen.Everything is in my name, but I don't drive. I'm disabled and not well so at the moment I can't send a recorded delivery letter, or get a new door lock. (don't know how to fit either). And there are 2 keys to my front door, one is a chubb. So would be very expensive to replace. As for getting a new car fob, I thought the fob has to be configured to the car?? Why should I have to go to all this expense anyway. I'm angry because it is so simple! Just return my keys and take his stuff!!! There is no chance of us getting back together, so I think he is just being awkward and spite full. I think I will have to phone my local police for advice. I'm in the UK.
1 AnswerOther - Family & Relationships1 decade agomy ex won't return my house and car keys?
I'm in the UK. My ex won't give me back my car and house keys. What is my legal position on this. I have written to him and text him to ask for them. He is completely ignoring me. I only have the spare car key, he has the fob. I want to sell the car. It's mine. Also, I don't want him coming into my house, using my keys. He lives somewhere else.
Also, there is LOADS of his stuff at my house, which I've asked him to collect. No response. He has emotionally and mentally abused me. Would the police help me??
