Benefit Fraud. JSA. In the UK?
I have just found out that someone I know. Who has been claiming JSA. Job seekers Allowance. For about 2 years now. (This is in the UK). So, only want answers from the UK please. He is French. But has a French passport. And has lived here for well over 20 years.
About 3 months ago, his parents house in France was sold. They both died last year. Well, he received about £27000. And he never told the DWP about the money. He's had it in the Bank since receiving it. So, if he is reported. Will they do anything to him?? I've heard, they don't bother much, when people report it. OR, it takes ages to get around to it??
What, if he leaves the country and go's back to France to live?? Will, he escape punishment. If, they don't know where he is?? And doesn't sign on again. Although he has 4 chilren and 2 Grandchildren, in this country. But, doesn't bother with them, that much.
He's done a dissapearing act. No one knows where he is. Although I think his eldest son has had texts from him.
Also, he hasn't paid money to the CSA for years. And, owes them about, £8000.
By rights, surely, he should have to pay that, out of this money?
He has a secret bank account.
I think, he is going to get away with this fraud. If, he doesn't sign on again.
Or, waits untill he only has £16000 left. Which, I was told, by the DWP. Is the amount you are allowed to have. Before it affects your Benefits.
He could be living in a squat. Which, he has done in the past.
So, no one. will no where he is If, he's not claiming housing or council tax benefit.. And, will slip under the radar???
Thankyou for your answers. So far.
I am very Disabled. He was my, full time, live in Carer. I put a roof over his head. But, of course, now, with all the money, he doesn't need that any more. Because he had moved in and was no longer available for work. To get the JSA. He was in the process of claiming to income support or carers allowance. I had to ring income support and update them, to my change in circumstances. So, I reported him then. They had stopped my money, because of him. Had said they had written to me. i havn't received any letters. so, he proberly concealed them as he collected the post. I am 95% bed bound. What concerns me, badly, is that all his details are registered to my address. As far as I know. his Bank accounts also. Yes, he has used ATM's. He will have to change Doctors, as he has a regular prescription. And they would then know his new address?? Unless, of course he continues to use my address just for repeat prescriptions. But the Doctors, are

Not going to disclose that are they? What would happen if I wrote to the Banks and said he was using my address, without my permission? I guess I could report him a missing to the police. But would they find him?? he has left me in a terrible, helpless state. i have been in touch with Social services, for help. I also have Bipolar. it sickens me, that he is going to get away with it.

If it is reported, the authorities can get hold of his bank details/records to see whether or not he does have undeclared funds. Having a secret bank account is pretty difficult - it's got to be linked to a name and address and he will be paying tax on any interest gained. If he's spending money from it there will be a ATM card or debit card linked to that account, and records can be gained from that. As to the CSA, if it is discovered that he does have this £27k, then yes he will be required to start making payments again.
Unfortunately, it's difficult to catch up with people who move around and stay in squats etc. so even if the authorities do investigate, they may not find him. That said, if he does go on the run, at the very least he wouldn't be claiming any more JSA off the taxpayer. Either way you should report it - otherwise you're letting him get away with stealing money from the rest of us.

I know any individual in a identical concern. Her buddy gets greater than she does working underneath 16 hours however gets a number of benefits on top which the person i do know can't get due to the fact she earns extra for her sixteen hours but has to pay the majority of her hire, all her council tax whereas the other man or woman gets eighty five% of her employ paid and all or most of her council tax paid soends up with rather a lot more in her hand on a weekly groundwork.. It is rather unfair. I would be tempted to jot down to the fraud part of the regional DWP place of work and inform them how she just isn't incapacitated and you can't appreciate how she can declare that she is when she goes out clubbing etc., and leads a perfectly natural life, aside from earning her own cash. They could name her in for interview, they might now not however the govt are still sending letters out to individuals on DLA to be assessed for fitness to work so a type of letters might be landing via her letterbox any day quickly and she's going to most often fail the questionnaire by means of the sounds of it so might be taken off her benefit and placed on Employment help Allowance because of this she is going to have to attend someplace normally for aid to discover a job, if she fails to go her benefit might be reduce. Just right luck with anything you make a decision to do. There's nothing to stop you being pals if you want the friendship to proceed. If you happen to do report her, tell no-one in any respect and make all the crucial nises if she tells you that she's been stated. You is not going to be the one one she brags to so she will not necessarily understand that it was once you who reported her since she have got to be getting different men and women's backs up with her tradition on the taxpayer.

Yea, shop him. And there's got to be one pound you've forgot to tell the tax-man about and so let's hope everyone gets shopped.
