  • For Latter-Day-Saints: I read that Joseph Smith added about 180 proper nouns to the English Language.?

And that Shakespeare only added 30. I believe one of the words that Joseph Smith added was "cement" but does anyone know what the other words might be?

  • Senator Obama's pastor Reverend Wright spoke out against pro-life advocates....?

He says they rob women of their 'right to choose.' It seems disturbing that a church proclaiming Christ as its Savior would believe that abortion on demand is acceptable in the eyes of God.

Are there other Christian churches out there that are pro-choice or are at least completely silent on the issue?

  • LDS: Please describe the defining moment of your conversion.?

Although I knew bits and pieces of truth about the church, I had of course been fed half truthes and outright lies including every conceivable myth regarding Joseph Smith. The defining moment of my conversion that "flipped the switch" and was the beginning of my gaining a testimony was when I straight out asked someone what was inside the Book of Mormon and what it was about.

Almost in an instant I knew the Book of Mormon was true and subsequently knew that Joseph Smith really was a prophet.

What 'flipped the switch' for you when you knew that the church was true. This question also applies to those born into the church.

  • Wesboro Baptist Church is protesting Pres. Hinkley's funeral....?

according to the Deseret News. "Lying False Prophet" and "Hinkley in Hell" are supposed to be just a couple of the posters they are going to display. First of all, this does not sound very Christian at all nor dignified, and why do the Baptists of this church feel a need to protest a dead man? I wonder if they have the guts to protest in front of a Mosque and tell the Muslims they worship a false prophet that leads people astray. I doubt it. It's fashionable to throw stones at Mormons. Looks to me like they are going for the easy target.

  • Describe a defining point of your life.?

What I mean is, has something significant happened to you, or in your presence that compells you to think or act differently today, and that it defines the person you are today.

  • New York health officials banned trans fatty acids from restaurants saying that they pose health risks........

So, now that the New York health officials are up in arms about what we put in our mouth, when are they going to get up in arms and ban America's favorite drug, alcohol? Will there be a Mothers Against Trans Fatty Acids (MATFA) aligning themselves with Mothers Against Drunk Driving to make sure that those intoxiticated with Trans Fats won't get behind a wheel and threaten the life of others out on the road? Will "Trans Fat Abusers Anonymous" chapters and support groups pop up in every city in the US for those who are having a hard time breaking the trans fat habit? Will families break apart or will people lose their jobs from self medicating with Trans Fats?!

If the government had had the good sense to keep this drug illegal many of our society's problems would not be so rampant. The government had the good sense to make pot illegal, yet no matter how many problems alcohol creates in our society they allow the continued use of this drug. Where are their priorities?
