I brought my car in for an inspection and everything was good except the cabin air filter that was "filthy" and I should have it replaced. Ok no big deal - replace it. A half hour later I get a call back saying that he would have to add a little more labor to the cost since the cabin air filter is behind the dash in my car, which he would have to remove to get to it. Ok that sounds reasonable enough - go ahead.

Anyhow, it hit me today - how the hell did he know that the air filter was "filthy" but didn't know that you need to take the dash apart to access it. Did he never even look at it? Is there some way to check quality of the filter without actually seeing it? Did I get screwed? 

My cat has to stay indoors because we live next to a busy street, and I feel bad that he doesn't get to act on his primal urges to stalk and hunt things. I'm thinking about buying some mice and setting up an arena in our basement for him to hunt. I know it sounds cruel, and I don't enjoy killing mice, but I feel like he deserves to enjoy the things that come natural to him. He gets tired of toys pretty fast, but watches the critters outside incessantly. What does everyone think?

My friend had a major issue with alcohol abuse that eventually put him in the hospital for days with withdrawal symptoms. It's a few months later, and now he insists he can have a few and he's fine. He has been doing this for a little and insists he has control over it. Is this possible? Are there any alcoholics out there with any insight?

I went to challenge a speeding ticket and when I got to the court, there was one state trooper (not my ticketing officer) there cutting deals with everyone ahead of seeing the judge to make the process go faster. When he offered me my deal (5 over, no points-pretty good deal), just for the hell of it I said "Well, if the ticketing officer isn't here, doesn't that mean they have to throw out the charge?" Before I barely got the words out he said "No, I would just testify in his place." So I shut up, thanked him and took the deal. Is that true or was he just blowing smoke up my ***? Could I have gotten the ticket thrown out?

Like if they got a request for a deep track from an early album, would they be able to get right into it?
