  • Come suona questa grammatica?

    A rischio di palesare ignoranza...

Ho sentito questa frase, che non pare suoni bene.

    E` grammaticalmente corretta?

    1) NON C' E` DIFETTO CHE IO NON PERDONASSI.

    E se invece fosse:

    2) NON C' ERA DIFETTO CHE IO NON PERDONASSI.

    Grazie!

  • Why charts don't work?

It's a while that you cannot select a starting day in the calendar and have the chart displayed from that day.

If you select a starting day, it systematically reverts back to ONE day (the current day) chart.

  • Are trade dates pulled back one day in your portfolios?

When you edit and change one or more trade date in a portfolio, and then you save it, this bad thing happen:

Each and every trade date in that portfolio is being pulled back one day. Once saved, You will then see not the date(s) you entered but the day before. This happens also for the trade dates left untouched.

    This malfunctioning is PERSISTENT.

Yahoo Folks, Can you please take care and resolve it?

Yahoo folks, Why are your Annualized Returns wrong?

    Pls see the enclosed pic.

Evidently, the annualized returns (gains) in the portfolios are wrong.

The spreadsheet in yellow shows the correct calculation, based on the formula: Ra = (Pc/Pt)^(1/H) -1

    Ra = Returns annualized

    Pc = Price, current

    Pt = Price, traded

H = Holding period, in years

Can you please answer this question? Thank You!

  • TLO is an exchange code. What does it stand for and where is it located?

While seeking data about NESTLE I ended up with this symbol: NESN-U.TI

Which belongs to the TLO stock exchange.

    See it here - http://finance.yahoo.com/q?s=NESN-U.TI

TLO and its symbol extension .TI are not documented in the Yahoo list of exchanges:

    http://finance.yahoo.com/exchanges

Dear Yahoo folks, What does TLO/.TI stand for?

    Thank You.

  • Why are historical prices unstable #2?

I strongly re-emphasize the truthfulness of my yesterday post:

    https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20140...

    That issue is perpetuating.

If others cannot replicate it, I think it could be because, in my case, the download request (tho mouse click) gets routed each time to different Yahoo servers that contain different data. While, for those who cannot replicate, gets routed always to one server (always the same) that contains good data.

Also, I was suggested to report the problem to Yahoo Customer Care through a link. I did not find anything on that link (and its sub-links) that allow users to contact Yahoo Customer Care.

    Kind Regards.

  • Why historical prices are unstable?

This is a qs to Yahoo folks directly.

Several stocks are affected by similar problems but let's take NWSA as an example.

The download of NWSA historical prices produces *randomly* two different csv:

    1) Sometimes the resulting csv has all the data => is good.

    2) Sometimes the resulting csv is missing exactly these dates:

    2014-01-08 2014-01-09 2013-07-29

Again: the outcome is random but consistent within these two cases for NWSA. And. again, this is not an isolated case of random outcomes.

Dear Yahoo folks, please do not respond "I cannot replicate this problem". That is a true matter of facts. Just try several times and you will see that happening.

Looking FWD to reading a response and seeing that resolved. Thanks.!

  • Spin-off cost basis: can someone help please?

I hope someone can follow me on this. It's not trivial.

On Feb 25th '13 LUK spun-off CWGL, distributing 1 share of CWGL for every 10 shares of LUK.

At the day of the spin-off the fair market value for LUK was 26.76 and for CWGL was 7.88

    Therefore, the basis for tax purposes is: B = ( 26.76 + 0.1 x 7.88 )

    The percent of B allocated to 1 share of LUK is 26.76 / B = 97.14%

    The percent of B allocated to 0.1 share of CWGL is 0.788 / B = 2.86%

    All right for now? Ok...

Now, I bought 100 LUK long ago at 25 per share.

    My (tax) cost bases for each 1 LUK is 25 x 97.14% = 24.285

    My (tax) cost bases for each 0.1 CWGL is 25 x 2.86% = 0.715

Therefore, my cost bases for each whole CWGL share is 0.715 x 10 = 7.15

Doesn't sound right? It did to me, until I read this document, from LUK

    http://www.costbasistools.com/taxstmts/Crimson.pdf

which on page 3, item 15, states that 2.86% is for one whole share of CWGL, not for 0.1 !

I'm very confused and I'd be very glad if someone can help. Thanks in advance!

  • Yahoo, can U pls remove the duplicated SPY dividends?

Firts, Thanks to Yahoo for having resolved my previous request:

    https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20140...

Now I'd ask to resolve the duplicate of dividends (distributions, actually) in the historical prices of SPY. They are:

    2000-12-27 0.411 DUPLICATE

    2000-12-15 0.411 valid

    2000-09-15 0.375 valid

    2000-09-14 0.375 DUPLICATE

    1994-09-19 0.295 DUPLICATE

    1994-09-16 0.288 valid

Seriously, starting from Dec 2000 and going backward, such duplication impacts the Adjusted-Close prices heavily and untruly.

The valid distribution data for SPY are reported in the issuer web page:

    https://www.spdrs.com/resources/distributions/inde...

Most probably, this problem comes directly from your data provider.

    Kind regards.

  • What went wrong today with Historical Prices?

    Yahoo folks, hello.

Respectfully: it's really puzzling to guess why your database of historical prices is so unstable.

Today is a special bad day for that. I'm hereby reporting the problems I'm facing today, that were not problems yesterday, when everything was fine.

For 2014-01- (Jan 2014) the following symbols are followed by the dates (the days) that disappeared from their historical prices:

    GLD : 10, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17

    TLT, EWJ : 10, 13, 14

    IEF, DXJ : 10, 13

DBA, DBO, RSP, EPP, IEV : 10

Basically, it's evident that your database is now having serious problems around Jan 2014.

  • Yahoo, can you pls resolve the ETF historical prices problem?

    Greetings!

I see the problem on SPY.csv was resolved. It's now correctly coming out with all 40 trading days of Jan and Feb.

I'd like to post here a PARTIAL list of the ETFs that have that same problem, still unresolved.

The number corresponds to the trading days of Jan and Feb reported in their historical prices today. They should report 40 trading days instead.

  • Yahoo, can you pls restore the historical prices of SPY?

I believe this problem started today, as I've extensively used these data in the past few days and everything was fine.

The problem: the historical prices of SPY are missing the whole Jan and Feb 2014.

In fact, the series looks like this:

    Mar 4, 2014 186.79 187.98 186.75 187.58 167,545,900 186.76

    Dec 31, 2013 184.07 184.69 183.93 184.69 86,119,900 183.88

Being SPY a very major symbol of the exchanges, it's very important to fix this problem.

    Thanks!

  • May I thank Yahoo Developers & Oscar G ?

I want to say Thank You to Yahoo developers for having fixed the Java Stock Screener:

    http://screener.finance.yahoo.com/newscreener.html

It's finally working (well, at least today is working).

I also want to say Thank You to Oscar G who (I believe) addressed that problem and who's also quite attentive to the user's requests.

  • Why can't I download historical prices of ITSTAR.MI ?

This link provides historical prices of ITSTAR.MI and all seems ok.

    http://it.finance.yahoo.com/q/hp?s=ITSTAR.MI

At the bottom of the table, as usual, there is the link for downloading the .csv file.

But, when I click on it, here is the Yahoo answer:

"Sorry, the page you requested was not found"

And that's so weird as all data are visible and available.

Hey, Yahoo folks, Can you help, please?

  • Why Yahoo has totally neglected the stock screeners?

Yahoo has totally neglected his stock screeners. And there must be a reason.

The Web version, http://screener.finance.yahoo.com/stocks.html is so basic to be just useless.

The Java version, http://screener.finance.yahoo.com/newscreener.html *was* really good an now is unavailable. Reason being that it does neither work on Windows7 nor on any Linux.

I'm asking Yahoo folks to make the Java version available for the newer operating systems, both Windows and Linux.

  • Where is the old Yahoo Stock Screener?

Long ago (1+ year) Finance.Yahoo a good stock screener that the user had to install (or perhaps just activate) in his computer.

Currently, I see only this screener, which is nothing close to the old one:

    http://screener.finance.yahoo.com/stocks.html

Has the old one been removed? Or it's just me who cannot locate it?

That was not bad at all.
