Okay so my teacher thought teaching ourselves Related Rates over Christmas break was a lovely idea and I'm stuck.

A streetlight is at the top of a vertical 20-ft pole. A man 6-ft tall walks away from the streetlight with a speed of 5ft/s along a straight path. A.( How fast is his shadow lengthening when he is 40 ft from the pole? B.( How fast is the tip of his shadow moving at that point?

I've already concluded that A= ds/dt= 15/7 ft/s or 2.14

But I don't understand what is being asked of for "b", because it's not theta, no angles were mentioned, but I already have the complete length of the shadow.

How do I proceed?

I'm trying to start my first *real* make up collection and want some really nice brushes. I was leaning M.A.C. but I didn't know if I should start that high. So I compromised.. Ok so my laptop has been used and maybe a little abused and it now has problems... It will cost me about $400 to fix it. It's a three yr. old laptop. Should i fix it or just get another one?

My guinea pig has an abscess and the vet cannot do anymore other then surgery and the risks are really high.. Do you know of any antibiotics that i could dilute and give to her?

My guinea pig has this hard lump under her mouth.. When I touch it she doesn't react... At first I thought it was a tumor but i was with her yesterday and there was nothing there.. What could it be? Oh and is there anything i can do since my chances of getting her to a vet are slim to none?

Say a cherry red (From being so hot) rod of metal slipped from my hand and hit my wrist. I didn't go to the ER or anything.. I didn't even cover it up i just left it go. And say it was exposed to tons of germs and now im coughing and feeling faint.. What's the worst that can happen. Please please tell me!
