When he called me to tell me it was in his own backyard I was surprised, but the funny part was that even before he began to tell me the story I knew in my mind that the crime was committed by an African American. It was an automatic assumption. When you watch the news every night, and just about every single crime they go into detail about involves African Americans, and every single thing you've ever witnessed in your life that's illegal involves them also... this is where your mind goes.

It turned out to be an accurate one. When he was like... this black guy walked into my yard, I laughed because it was such a given. I don't think anyone is ever really born racist. I think people endure witnessing horrible act after horrible act from a particular group of people, and from that point on horribleness is just expected.

So, my question is... Can you tell me about a personal experience you've had that is positive relating to African Americans to improve my opinion a little because I've only seen things that make me think... Damn, what is wrong with you people... and it would be nice to hear something positive for once. I'd like to think that this is just an isolated place where this happens every damn day, and that out in the world things are different.

I was in the mall with a family member this week, and we were just about to leave Sears when I heard someone yell angrily. I turned my head and there were two African American women standing in front of a stroller with a 2 year old boy inside of it, and one was strapping him into his seat. She was being very rough with the child, and when he cried out she nastily told him to shut up, then hit him.

When I saw this I became extremely angry, and it took everything within my will power not to walk over and knock the woman on her backside for striking the child. Instead, I paused and glowered at them making the younger of the women look up at me. Curling my lip I growled... Nice parenting... and walked past them out of the store.

It took me a long time to stop being angry about it, and it makes me even angrier to think that I see similar types of behavior almost every single time I go out into public lately. It's getting harder and harder not to belt people in the face for the way they treat their children... especially in the county I live in because it's full of some of the most ignorant, horrible people on earth who seem to embrace being poor, uneducated, and cruel.

How do you deal with these types of things because sooner or later I'm going to get arrested.

Detroit or Milwaukee where the people there are ignorant, uneducated criminals who would stomp on your neck to be able to steal your shoes?

If that's the only contact with a particular race that you've had... is unfettered stupidity and cruelty... is it wrong to despise them?
