3 AnswersCalendar and Contacts6 years agoCan an orthopaedic surgeon perform neurosurgery?
I have a condition called Spinal stenosis where the outlets from the spine have been narrowed either by growth of bone or cartilage tissue, and I have been referred to an orthopaedic surgeon. Does`nt seem to make much sense unless he is qualified to practice neurosurgery. I`d be grateful for any observations, thanks.
3 AnswersHigher Education (University +)7 years agowould you be a donor?
I do understand the anguish of patients sometimes dying for the want of a transplant, but I am not sure about the whole procedure being right for the patient and right for the donor. I wouldn`t like to think that my heart is pumping in someone elses body long after I had died. I`m not religious at all but get an uneasy feeling that whatever exists after death, one might be excluded if part of me is still `alive` somewhere else, a kind of limbo? What are your views on this please?
2 AnswersTrying to Conceive7 years agoWhy some women say `sweetie`?
As I got older it was noticeable that I had become a `sweetie` or a `luvvy` or even `darling` to some (always much younger women) Ther was no malice intended, but just curious how these terms of endearnment creep into the vocabulary. I`m not offended by it jsu curious how this come about and how do younger women (some) see an older man when referring to him as a `sweetie?` Thanks.
5 AnswersGender Studies7 years agoWhy does milk cause depression?
When I noticed my son crying at the side of the fridge holding a bottle of milk (aged five) he couldn`t tell me what had upset him. More of these episodes happened, sometimes I could hear him in the middle of the night, always with milk in his hands. It was as though he was addicted to it. Now, I am the same; really severe depression after a milky drink or with cereals. I know that it sounds like an allergy but I have been suicidal after unwittingly drinking milk and forgetting it`s effects. Has anyone experienced this ? any ideas as to why? all answers gratefully recieved
3 AnswersOther - Health & Beauty7 years agowhy did I survive `last rights?`?
As a baby aged one I developed pneumonia (empyema). Penicillin was not quite available. The surgeons broke into my lung (rib resection) and successfully drained of the pus. It was considered that I was dying and a priest gave me The Last Rights. It was expected that I had six days before death. However I made a slow recovery to everyone`s amazement. Is there any significance to my surviving? Could I have died momentarily? All answers gratefully accepted. Thanks.

Yahoo Answers use to give us the chance of fine tuning our answers by referring to two encyclopaedias and spell check has gone too. Does anyone know why? or is it just me?

4 AnswersSwimming & Diving7 years agowhat is the worst greeting?
People have lots of ways of saying hello even in mail "how are you today?" "how are you keeping?" "Hi" "you look well" Then there is the wave with no comment, or the nod or the raised eyebrows for me is the worst.
3 AnswersWords & Wordplay7 years agoIs Darwinism now extinct ?
I know that Darwinism has come under educated scrutiny but not really destroyed as such. Do you think this account does that? In Yellowstone park the elegant, graceful and beautiful to gaze on Elk, had over thousands maybe millions of years outwitted and out run it`s main predator, the prehistoric wolf, and lived in relative peace. Man the meddler had worked out that the loss of the beaver, the dams, reservoirs fish etc was all down to the extinction of the wolf., and so like a good boy scout he introduced a new breed of wolf which began, as it does, to eat new born elk and the old and the disabled alive and as a pack. The fact that the beaver, the dams and the fish etc all re emerged wa seen as justification for killing the elk. The question that is bothering me is that man effectively put the evolutionary clock back and the elk has to start all over again.ok we have the beaver, the ponds, the fish and so on.This is not natural selection (Darwin). will there be a price that we will have to pay for this unnatural act? ,
