I m working on a personal project to try to simulate a search engine, which uses PageRank algorithm and some sort of a full text phrase search (pretty much what Google does). I have contents of the web pages stored in a dictionary and I would like to index them based on some sort of match with a given phrase. Is there a recommended library which can do that? I found Elasticsearch and Whoosh, but I don t know enough about them to know if I ll be able to use them for my example. I need it to be usable in Python.

I have been coding for about half a year now in C and I wanted to try a few things with web design (just as an interest). Is it difficult to learn? How can one study/learn such a thing?

I have Windows 10 and on it I have Ubuntu installed in a VirtualBox. I was wondering if I should install a programming IDE fot C and a Compiler on the Ubuntu or if I should have it on Windows. I will probably install NetBeans IDE because that s what we use at our Uni and I want to get accustomed to it.

I will be studying IT at a university next year. My question is, what kinds of things are important to know in the world of IT?

I will probably choose the course Information systems and Management (I don't really want to be a developer or programmer per say, although I will have subjects in these areas too).

What programming language should I choose? Should I also take subjects like computer networks, artificial intelligence, big data...?

Wi will be studying IT Systems and Management and I was wondering for sort of prospects I have for the future. Are careers in this sector fun?

I am going to Uni next year and I was thinking about several different fields of study. Firstly, there are cybernetics and then information technologies. What is more interesting and what has bigger prospects for the future? In IT, I could choose several different things (software development, web design,... but I would most likely lean toward choosing Information Systems and Management and try to connect economics and business together with IT. I feel like I will then have a greater potential of being in a leading position in a company and direct technical projects. I don't really want to be a programmer.)

Me and my girlfriend have an upcoming 1 year anniversary. It is 3 days after Christmas, so I don't know how to do with with the presents. I honestly don't have that much money right now, so I'm thinking of buying her a necklace for Christmas and then inviting her out for dinner for the anniversary. Is that okay? Won't it be bad if I don't give he ranything besides the dinner?

Me and my girlfriend have been dating for 10 months and at the beginning we were always telling stories, laughing, having fun and we could always do that even when we were just at home. Nowadays it is a bit different, sometimes we just don't have anything to do and we lay in the bed not saying anything or falling asleep, or we just have boring smalltalk. There are always moments when we sudenly start talking about something, but I don't know what to do in those when we are quiet. We have lately started going out into the city more, because there isn;t much to do at home.

I love her and she says she loves me and I would say we are happy, it's just this problem that we sometimes don't have anything to do.

What can we do about this? Is this normal? We see each other only on weekends because of her school beinge elsewere, but we write to each other a lot.

I knew my girlfriend before we started dating for 2-3 years, our families used to go skiing in the winter together and she is also my neighbour. We talked and sometimes even maybe flirted a little, but she had a boyfriend the whole time. After she broke up with him, it was difficult to try something on her, because we have know each other only as friends, but I managed it in the end.

I love her almost too much, but I'm not sure if she still loves me (I know she loved me a few months ago, there was no question about it). I got nervous, so I went on her facebook and found out that she wrote to one of her friends 2 months ago, that she is in love with an old teacher of hers (who is 36, she is 19, I'm 18). She told her friend that she loved me but that it sort of started to disappear after a few months, but she is still happy with me and knows that she couldn't be with the teacher, so she didn't do anything so she doesn't lose me as well. She also said that she would probably forget about the teacher after a while..

After I read this, I'm quite broken, I don't know what to do. It was 2 months ago and it seems fine now, only thing is that she doesn't show that much affection (I always start kisses and say I love you and she just says I love you too), but she has always been a bit shy and didn't use to do that before much either.

What should I do? Should I ask her about it, or should I leave it for now..?

I was thinking of buying this watch, but I'm not sure, because it only costs about 7 pounds and I don't understand why. Is it so bad? Or can you tell from the listing if there is some sort of a trick?

I'd say the watch looks really cool and quartz is normally not a bad brand is it? I don't understand why it only costs 3 dollars :D

I'm 18 and she is 19 and sometimes we just get bored when we're at home. We go out for walks and stuff, but at home we usually lie on the bed and talk, but sometimes we just run out of things to say and just we just lie there in silence.

We go out to the city for a shisha or drinks, but fairly rarely. I don't drink coffee, so we also don't go to cafes like she does with her friends or did with her ex. Another problem is that wehen we go out, it costs money and I don't have that much.

The question is, what things could we do together? We still have fun and love each other very much, it's just that I don't want her to get bored.

I have a girlfriend (almost 19 years old) who quite often goes out for a coffee with her girlfriends. Her ex used to do it too with his friends and with her and she sees that as the usual thing.

I'm almost 18 and literally none of my friends just randomly go out for a coffee or even just go out together, not counting Friday night drinking. I go out with my girlfriend sometimes, but otherwise I do my own things and don't go into public that much.

She says that that's wrong and that all her guy friends do it, but I don't see that from my experience. Should I do something about this? Hardly any of my friends actually drink coffee (I hate it) and those who do, dink it at home.. Is there something else we could just randomly do? I always sort of do things with them for a purpose, not just out of boredome

My girlfriend of 5 months will have her 19th birthday in June and I don't know what to give her. She is quite artistic and she's going to study architecture next year, so I thought I could give her blackwing pencils, apparently they are the best pencils in the world and I thought it could be something original.. I don't have that much money, so I don't know if I could really afford to give her expensive jewellery like her rich ex boyfriend did.. I know she isn't materialistic, but it still sort of sucks when I give her pencils.. any ideas of what else I could do?
