I need help on how to get from Vertices and Foci to the standard form of the equation.

There are two problems I need help with:

1) Vertices:(0,2), (0,-2) Foci: (0,4), (0,-4) Center is at origin

2) Vertices:(2,0), (6,0) Foci:(0,0), (8,0)

I need help on classifying what kind of graph would the problem be (i.e, circle, parabola, ellipse, or hyperbola) based on an equation given. Can someone give a clear explanation on how to classify?

I'm stuck on these three problems:

x^2+4y^2-6x+16y+21=0

y^2-6y-4x+21=0

4y^2-2x^2-4y-8x-15=0

The bearing from the Pine knob fire tower to the Colt station is N 65 degrees E, and the two towers are 30 kilometers apart. A fire spotted by rangers in each tower has a bearing of N 80 degrees E from Pine Knob and S 70 degrees from Colt station. Find the distance of the fire from each tower.

I used one of the cofunction identities but I got stuck..can you help explain how to do this?

I want to make sure it is.

Also, x^2+8y=0 is similar to the problem above.
