  • What does pneumonia feel like?

I don't have health insurance but I went to urgent care on Tuesday. (It was a nightmare and I waited for 2 hours before I got passed around by nurses and doctors.) I went in for a persistent cough, congestion, fatigue and chest soreness. They said it was walking pneumonia and that I could take antibiotics or it would go away on its own but now it's Friday and my chest still feels like I can't take a deep breath. It's sore and achy and I'm getting tired/a little light headed if I'm up and walking around too much. Since I don't have insurance I'm trying to see if this is normal with walking pneumonia before I go back.

  • How to correct hot roots at home?

BEFORE I EXPLAIN: Please don't give me any grief about coloring my own hair or for not going to a salon. I don't have the $200+ that it would've cost me to do that and this all started as a way to help out a fellow friend who is in cosmetology school.

So, I went from dirty blonde-ish/light brown hair to auburn. I had my hair stripped of color about 2 months ago and have just dealt with the boring color left afterwards. When a girlfriend said that she might be able to help I figured, if it didn't work out I'd just go all over black. But the color turned out great except for a little less than 1/2 an inch where my new growth pulled a lot more red than the rest of my hair. Is there anyway I could just use highlights/lowlights to conceal it? Or anything else I could do?

  • TTC, 3 weeks late but getting confusing results?

I am 3 weeks late and have taken 4 tests, one everyday for the past 4 days. I've even switched brands to see if that would effect anything. I have a light headache and what feels like motion sickness as well as very light cramping. I have a dr appointment on Tuesday to have blood work done to determine for sure that I'm not pregnant but I'm pretty confused. I did just get over a pretty nasty sinus infection but sinus infections aren't anything new to me and have never caused my period to be late before. Anyone have any clues?

  • My boyfriend is dressing up as an old man for Halloween, what can I be to match?

My boyfriend band is playing a cover show on Halloween and covering weezer songs dressed as old men and going by "Geezer". It's going to be hot as all get out. I want to match him but I don't want to be cheesy. I'd really rather stay away from the whole nurse/care giver role since it's over played. I need ideas people! Help

  • Day after neutering questions?

My dog is a year old. Yesterday he was neutered and has been his normal self, just not quite as hyper yet still happy, wanting to play (which we've discouraged rough playing per vets instructions). But he also hasn't suffered any appetite issues, I followed instructions to give him 1/4 of what he normally eats last night, and then a little more than half of what he normally eats this morning with his pain medication this morning. He ate both like he normally does, and had the remaining half around 6-6:30 for his dinner. It's now 1:33 am and he still hasn't pooped but has really bad gas. I'm assuming that he's fine because he's still in good spirits and playful but I'd like some input. And if there's anything else I should watch for, that'd be great to know.

  • What kind of warts are these and HOW do I get rid of them?

I have a cluster under each of my thumb finger nails, those came up last year and are just getting bigger. And the first one I got is on the side of my thumb, about 1.5x the size of a pencil eraser. I've had it for 8 years now. The biggest and oldest one is circular and raised and rough looking with about 6-7 visible black dots and the one under the nail on the same thumb looks like 3 small ones grouped together. The under the nail ones are painful. I went to my general dr who said they'd have to refer me to a specialist that would take my government healthcare and the closest one is 2 hours away and won't see me until next month. My general practitioner wouldn't even look at them. I've tried duck tape, garlic, general vitamins to boost my immune system, freezing kits from the store, Salicylic acid and everything I could find on the Internet. They are painful, and gross to look at. Please give me some clue as to what to do here.

  • My dog is a complete mess?

He's a husky pit mix and is currently "blowing his coat". I'm brushing him/raking him 2-3 times a day and I tried a deshedding shampoo but even still he seems to be in a constant state of itchiness if I'm not distracting him. He's licking and scratching his hot spots and seems to have given himself some form of hair balls where he's hacking up fur. I'm trying to figure out if this is just his allergies acting up (he's had mild skin allergies in the past) or if it's a side effect of his shedding. His fur seems normal and shiny, just all shedding. And he's in a pleasant mood. Any clue as to whether I should be hugely concerned or not? And tips on easing this itchy period?

  • Reverse sneezing in puppy? Potential pollen allergy?

And again my never ending list of confusion and curiosity caused by my 10 month old husky has another odd thing added to it. It took me quite a bit of googling to realize that what he was doing was reverse sneezing and it's started in the past week. We live in ga and everything of course is already covered in pollen. So, my question is if my dog is doing this reverse sneezing thing and has eye boogers, but is eating and playing and acting normally, should I assume it's the pollen and if so does it warrant a vet visit?

  • Puppy problems!?

I have an 11 month old husky mix who is generally pretty well behaved. I started a new job 4 months ago which has lead to him having to stay in my bedroom so that he doesn't get into things from 8 am to 2 pm 3-4 days a week. The vet said that since he is potty trained (we crate trained to help with bladder control) that he should have no problems with accidents but to make sure that his schedule isn't greatly impacted and that he is still getting attention and exercise. Which he is, his schedule has barely changed at all. Up until this past week he's been doing great! We go out in the morning for a walk after he's fed, then he's in a room where everything is off the floor except several different types of toys and his bed. I don't leave food out for him at all. And then when I get back he's happy to see me and we walk again and play and he gets fed dinner. Same schedule as it has been for months. But in the past 4 days he has: jumped up onto a desk (breaking a vase and destroying papers), he's gone to the bathroom in the room two consecutive days (both times he's put his bed or a toy over his accident I guess to hide it maybe?) and he's destroyed a headset that he pulled off the desk. I think what I'm most concerned about is why he's having accidents all of a sudden in my room. I understand the curiosity (while it isn't acceptable) and the destruction and I assume it's out of boredom but why now? After being good for 3 months it's odd.

  • are the V8 fusion/tropical farmstand drinks really that good for you?

I know they have a fair amount of sugar in them but I've recently become addicted to the fruit-veggie combo drinks and would like to know if there are any real benefits to them. I'm sure they're better than chugging soft drinks but am I really doing my body a favor by picking up two of these a day?

  • Check engine light is on, car shuts off when I'm driving?

I have a mazda protege 2001, and as of right now it's parked in front of the house because if I start it, it'll be fine for about 2 minutes while I'm driving but then when I have to break it sputters and shuts off. The battery stays on, the engine just cuts off. Which brings me of course to the check engine light coming on, accompanied by the battery light and the oil light. I had my oil changed 2 months ago and I haven't gone over the miles until next oil change yet. So, I'm trying to get an idea of what it could be and what its going to cost me before I have my insurance tow it.

    So to recap:

    - Shuttering and then stopping once I start breaking/stop accelerating

    - Oil, Check Engine, and Battery light all light up when this happens

    - I can shut the car off and restart it but it does the exact same thing

    - The car stays on during this whole ordeal but the engine cuts off.

Other things to note- I've had the fuel pump replaced in the past year, and an oil leak fixed. The car has 117k miles on it.

  • Puppy training woes! Please help?

I have a husky puppy who is now 4 months old. He did really well with house training in the beginning but now has back tracked. I take him out after he eats and drinks, before bed time, twice or three times in the middle of the night and when I'm with him he has NO accidents. But on the one or two days a week when I'm not home for 2-3 hrs I'll put him in his crate (it's size appropriate for training). Issues with this are 1) he never stops barking. We tried crating him at night when we slept while still maintaining a potty schedule and he would yelp, whine and howl like he was dying. Issue 2) he pees in his crate. I know dogs don't pee where they eat/sleep but he seems to have no problem with it. He'll soak straight through the blanket/towel combo I've put in there. We tried to take everything off the floor in the bedroom and keep him in there for 2-3 hrs during the day. He pees ONLY on the bed. And he never poops in the room. We praise him outside and don't yell at him. Help please?

  • Shoulder pain/issues?

My boyfriend jumped into a river over 5 weeks ago and didn't realize it wa as shallow as it was until his shoulder hit the bottom. He said it felt like it popped out and popped back in. He experienced a decent amount of shoulder pain that night and a few nights afterwards. When the pain did subside, there were still certain things that would cause pain to shoot through his arm like reaching behind him or putting his arm under his pillow to sleep. No issues lifting things really. He went to a chiropractor who insisted on checking out his neck? Which made no sense to me. To get to the point, his shoulder still hurts in some positions and even if he moves his fingers a certain way occasionally. Any idea what may be going on?

  • Removing film in my mini Diana?

The film got jammed at the end of my film when I was trying to wind it. So I ended up having to open the camera and manually wind in back into the film container. Is it safe to assume that the film is ruined? It's black and white standard 35mm film if that helps any. I'm hoping it's ok, thanks in advance guys :)

  • Why is my eye twitching? Symptom of TMJ?

I went to the hospital a few days ago for severe jaw/ear pain and it turned out that my jaw was displaced from TMJ (which I didn't know I had) But while all of this was going on, I noticed that I had a twitch on the same side of my face. A very small section of skin on my eye lid right beside my eyelashes was pinching and twitching every 5-10 minutes for 30 minutes at a time. I thought that when they fixed my jaw it would make it go away but its been 3 days and my eye is still twitching. Any idea what I can do to make it stop? And is this a symptom of TMJ?

  • Warped Tour clothing, accessories, and hair?

I went last year and was totally unprepared. Obviously its an all day outside concert and I'm going in Charlotte NC. Its going to be hot and sticky and I want to have a good time without looking ridiculous. I am thinking of wearing a pair of light weight shorts with a swim suit and a cotton v-neck over the top. My real concern is what I should do with my hair. Its pretty long and naturally wavy and I've got blunt bangs. I thought of tying it up with a fun bandanna so that I don't look 12. Any other ideas or tips?

  • What documentation is needed for a tourist visa?

My friend is from Romania but he has lived and worked in Spain for 10 years and wishes to visit me in the U.S. What kind of documents does he need to submit and what kind of documents do I need to submit? He has a Romanian passport, so that's what is kind of throwing me off. On the U.S embassy page it says that he can visit for up to 90 days but it does not have Romania listed as one of the countries. I don't know, maybe I'm missing something. Any info would help! Thanks

  • My legs itch so bad that I'm scratching skin off...?

I've been having this issue for years. Its worst at night and generally below the knee. Its such a bad itch that I can't get it to go away. I literally have to dig my nails into my skin before it goes away and then its only replaced with pain. And worse, if I don't scratch them then I have uncontrollable twitching of my legs from the thigh down. Its ridiculous and nagging and I want it tto stop. Doctor says its just dry skin but there's no way, I've tried exfoliating and applying creme, I've tried an steriod for eczema. Nothing is helpinggg help me its driving me crazy

  • I'm going to Spain for 4 weeks, what is the best way to keep in contact with my family? ?

I have Verizon and a droid 2 with unlimited texting and internet as well as free Verizon to Verizon calls. I am having the hardest time getting the information online. Is anything (calls or texting) covered? We're also staying in a building with no internet so I wont be able to contact family regularly that way either.
