  • Dr.'s that perform mercy killings, a sin?

What are your thoughts of a good Dr. that would perform a "mercy kill" for a patient that is dying?

I mean severely suffering and there is no cure or chance for survival and death is days or hours away...

The oath to "first do no harm" is now considered irrelevant as the injury or disease has done the damage, is it okay in the eyes of God to help them end their suffering or murder with human intervention?

If the patient wants it or even if the patient is unaware and just waiting for or praying for it all to be over.

Is it murder (obviously not cold blooded) or is it a merciful showing of compassion?

  • How are the voters from states ravaged by Sandy going to vote...?

...since the communities are destroyed and the struggle just to eat/find shelter during this troubling chaos is priority. I know for most of them it may be their last concern but what if they want to find a place to go and vote? Who would provide such a service while other disaster relief efforts are underway? I would imagine their registrations are gone with the storm as well as the loss of personal properties. Such a tragedy at a crucial time...thoughts? Thanks in advance.

  • Would someone please explain the electoral college and why...?

...Why do we need it? I've had it explained to me several times and I am an intelligent person and I still don't understand why we have it. Why don't we just...count the votes? Is it there to protect our votes or is it a means to manipulate our votes, seems like the latter to me. I've watched my share of counting the votes on election nights over the years and a state could be leaning heavy for one candidate by actual votes, then the "electoral college" swoops in a spins it the other way?!? On what authority do they have this power and who gave it to them? I thought "We The People" are in charge and they work for us? What happened? Do our votes really count or are they summed up and rounded to the nearest fraudulent handler?

  • Blazer caught fire-If there was a vehicle recall before we owned it, will they still honor it now?

We have a 96 Chevy blazer that caught fire yesterday, luckily we put it out. We bought it used about 6 years ago, shortly after our first blazer burnt to the ground in our driveway...what are the odds?...I searched for recalls and there are some but if the previous owner didn't heed the recall or even know about it, will they honor it after this many years? Thanks in advance.

  • Our new nieghbor is running drugs, what would you do?

We have new neighbors as of last summer (from CA), old house was vacant for 2 years before, his dad and grandfather bought the property and let them live there (free ride) as long as they pay the land tax... his girlfriend and their now 2yr old child moved in as well...in the summer, we seemed to get along great, now he bums gas to get to the station, calls to see if we want to buy pain killers, ect...

He has no job, (neither of them) and runs all hours of the night and day...his car is loud so we hear it all the time. He wants to borrow money when he actually owes us for things he's borrowed and broken, as simple as a flashlight to a droplight..they found almost $2000 buried in the floor and blew it in under a week... As a concerned parent and sick of small communities going to ruin, What Would You Do?...Just down the road, there is a "hotel" that seems to be the last stop for even some our own friends that have died from overdoses...now he's "going there on deliveries"...Please Help, What would you do??? No One accuse me of being a wuss, I'm furious this little punk is getting away with this, but I have a family to protect and do not want bricks or bullets through our windows...Thanks in advance for your help!

  • What religion is this...or cult?

There is a boy in my daughters class who is new this year to 2nd grade...his family made it clear to the school that he is not allowed to participate in any event for any holiday, no Christmas, no Halloween, not even birthdays, he refuses any sugar (for my daughters birthday I told her to give him an apple and he still turned it down). If the kids bring in a snack for their birthdays, he's not allowed to be involved...For his own birthday, the teacher gave him a card and he refused it...!?!

For Valentine's day, the teacher sent home a list of names to hand out cards/snacks and his name wasn't even allowed to be on it... What religion or cult pushes a recluse-like existance such as this, it seems cruel to make your child watch regular everyday activities from an outside perspective, like brainwashing? I don't know what to make of this. They pick him up everyday and rush him away...my daughter tells him "bye" and he responds "who are you"...they sit almost next to each other! If regular life is such a threat, why not just homeschool? Thanks in advance for any help in understanding this.

  • How to get a background check on a person of interest, for free?

We have a new customer and I want to get a possible criminal background check on him to see if he's someone we should turn away. He's very difficult to deal with (thinks the world revolves around him) and says he was a cop for 5 years. What happened to that career? He also seems to be a little "pervy" when it comes to women (and teenage girls). Yea, red flag! Every search I do says "free" but it's not and isn't the important info public record? I heard once you pay for the info, your email goes into a database and you get bombarded with junk emials and emarketing crap...Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance....

  • Where to find a replacement motor for wood burner?

Our wood burning stove blower motor has reached the end of it's life span and there are no numbers at all anywhere on it. The manufacturer cannot be found, must have went out of business and it is getting cold...It takes a 10 x 20 x 1 inch filter, the motor itself is not very big and has a "snail shell" shaped curve and we really need to find something exact, similar or adaptable. Most places I've looked have enormous (and high priced) motors and ours is pretty basic, not fancy. The only label I can see on the outer casing is MWF, Minerva Ohio, any other label has crisped up and flaked off over the years (was here when we bought the house). Any help out there? Thanks in advance.

  • How do I stop my cat from "going" on the floor, it's not his usual behavior?

My cat is an 8 years old snoeshoe mix and in overall good health...lately he's been pooing on the floor next to a clean litter box or going on a shirt next to the laundry, on the carpet next to my shoes, and once right in front on the cupboard door where his food is kept. There is no disturbance that I am aware of going on in our home, not even a change in laundry detergent... I do have another cat for over 2 years and she seems fine and they get always get along like usual. How do I retrain him, without it being a punishment, he is quite timid. Should I move the litter box just for a change of pace? This is very discouraging and I would never put him down over this, I just need some advice from past experience or an expert on behavioral patterns. Any advice would help, Thanks in advance...

  • Today I overheard our new neighbor viciously cursing out/threatening to kill...?

Today I overheard our soon-to-be new neighbor viciously cursing out and threatening to kill his toddler son, then he beat him in the yard while still yelling at him...his vile cursing could be heard everywhere. My heart broke...if this is a glimpse of what he's like outside, I can't tolerate a neighbor like that. What should I do, they don't even have the keys yet...I'm deeply troubled, I can't let a child be mentally or physiclly abused, and probably worse behind closed doors...I know the mother is around but never heard a peep from her and I can't let my own daughter hear this day in and day out all summer from our own back yard. How should I handle this if this continues or gets worse? How do I approach this without them knowing so as not to put my own family in harms way?

My father-in-law was recently diagnosed with this disorder and is feeling that he may only have about 2 years to live...my personal research shows that it is much more manageable than he realizes and I would like to get some feedback from people who have this or know someone who does. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  • Anyone ever tried "working at home" using the internet? Is it a scam or legit?

They offer to "give" you a kit to start doing something online to make money and the huge amount they say you can earn seems ridiculous for just a few hours a week on the internet. And what's the charge for the kit after the trial is over? I mean, "where there's smoke, there's fire", right? Or is it legit to the point that using people that "work at home" for them actually profits them such a fortune that a small fortune to you is chump change to them? Desperate times call for desperate measures and things aren't looking to get any better any time soon...Any thoughts, experiences?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Found old Look magazines, Time magazines from the 30's and 40's...?

Could they be worth anything and if so, where would I find that info or an appraiser?

The insides are in good shape but the covers are a tattered on the edges as well as some pages?

One Time magazine is from November of 72 and has Nixon "Landslide" on the cover. One Look magazine is from 1937, another from 1940, another from 1967 with "Flight from Dallas" on the cover.

Another piece is our local newspaper with the front page dedicated to Kennedy (the assassination).

Could these be of any value to a collector?

  • My daughter (kindergarten) is asking age inappropriate questions?

My only child is telling me that the kids in her classroom are telling her (not asking) that it's ok for girls to have girlfriends and girls to marry girls? I am at a loss to find a way to talk to her about it at her impressionable age and explain to her why she's too young to understand or even be thinking of such things. I'm also at a loss to understand why the teacher is not directing their attention to something else like: reading, writing, anything educational other than gender issues! I'm not surprised but still think it should be addressed and dismissed from the classroom...what is your advice/experience? I feel it is unacceptable discussion for children in elementary let alone kindergarten!

  • Could my cat have mange or a skin disorder?

I took in my outdoor cat as my own when she was a stray about 5 years ago. I had her fixed and all her shots back then. She has always been "bald" on the inside of her back legs. She spent the majority of this winter in our breezeway when last week, a possum was sneaking in a became a nuisance, getting into her food and pooing on the lid of her cat food bucket. I cleaned and disinfected and the possum was "relocated" but in the last few days she is suddenly losing her fur all over her back legs and hip areas (not in a random pattern, very symmetrical). She does not appear to be bothered by it and there are no sores. I did some research on mange and it's very rare for cats but usually starts on the face and ears if they are affected.

Could she have caught mange or something from the possum or might this just be her "pre-existing balding" condition spreading...what's your advice or experience in this matter and how susceptible are my 2 indoor cats even though they never have contact with her ?

  • Why is Facebook, (& similar forums), such a big deal?

I'm not understanding why it's such a big deal? I was told to "get on facebook, your missing out" - missing out on what? A bunch of people who I haven't seen in a decade and would otherwise not even socialize with adding me as "their friend" and they still say nothing, stupid posts that no one cares about? What are they thinking - "I want to take a nap, but let me post "I'm sleepy" on my facebook page first...I'm watering my plants...my dog is in heat...I'm clipping my toenails...going to the store"...Someone posted a comical comment on my "wall" in good fun and someone else got their "panties in a wad" at me over nothing! Young kids showing their ignorance and lack of intelligence to the world. Just today on the news, a 14 yr old girl committed suicide from the constant cyber bullying and harassment from a group of irresponsible, relentless snobs! Where is the self control? Where is the accountability? When did it go from "hello, how've you been?" to "you just wait till you get to school tomorrow, you b**ch, you'll never see us coming!"...It seems to me the devil is in the details and some things are just best left "unsaid" and "not other peoples business". Seems more like adults stuck in high school gossip and children setting themselves up for world of trouble! I want to know why people can't put down their cell phones and take them away from the children (who don't even need them) and pick their heads up and look at the 3 dimensional world around them...

Am I missing something here or is the viper pit even deeper that even I realize?

  • Would "Free Screens" draw business in the T'shirt printing industry?

The recession has hit our small business pretty hard and 09 was our slowest year ever...would offering free screens for January and February draw business? All the customer would have to pay for is the printed shirts. We already have great prices and have never added those annoying miscellaneous charges that pop up at the end of the bill like so many others do and we have a great reputation in our community but competition can be rough. We are much smaller than others screen printers but that allows us to keep our overhead and over-pricing down.

Any other advise that would attract customers would be much appreciated...I'm hoping 2010 will be a better year (for everyone). Thanks in advance.

  • Fraudulent "Government" Agency hounding my business?

Have you ever heard of FPA Guides.com ? (Federal Procurement Agency)

They are calling me relentlessly wanting $500 to advertise in their password protected online resource for doing business with the government. I looked for their website and it is not there.

The more they try to convince me they are legit, the more I become suspicious. Another gov agency told me I didn't have to pay to register...could this be a huge fraud or has anyone heard of or done business with this agency?
