  • How do you run a DOS program on Windows Vista?

I have an old MSDOS program. How do I get it to run of Vista?

For that matter, how do I even get to the Command Prompt?

  • SCA and re-enactor help needed?

I will be attending some May events and have the opportunity to sew a shirt (blouse/ chemise/ whatever) and a skirt. Through a thrift shop buy I can do each out of a light weight silk for about $1.50. In weather that is in the upper 90's (both temperature and humidity) would it be cooler to wear silk or to wear a light weight cotton?

  • housing wild animals -serious info needed?

This is a serious question, I would appreciate serious answers and suggestions.

My neighbor moved onto an acreage expecting to be there the rest of his life. He has legally obtained two bobcats and a timberwolf. He takes extremely good care of them.

However finances and circumstances are now requiring that he move. Does anyone have suggestions as to how/where he can continue to house his animals?

He has tried to get local animal shelters to allow him to house them temporarily till he gets back on his feet. He is willing (and wanting) to continue feeding and caring for them there and is even willing to volunteer his time with the other animals there, but for whatever reasons (insurance or whatever) the shelters can't or won't help out.

Not many landlords will allow such pets, so renting has not turned out too well either.

Ideally, someone would be willing to invest in the property (assume the mortgage) and rent to him and a roommate.

What are other avenues that he might pursue?

  • Where did the Antarctic Ocean go?

When I was in school there were 5 oceans. Prior to that there were the Seven Seas (which I can still name). But my daughter's geography book teaches that there are four oceans. When did this change, how, and why?

  • Answering questions 'First'?

Often I read a question and decide to answer. The screen says 'be the first to answer this question'.

After pressing submit, I find the there is a whole list of answers (some from several minutes before). Often there are several quite adequate answers and I have pretty much wasted my time. Why does this occur, and more importantly how can it be avoided?

Basically, how can I read all the answers before answering the question?

  • Yahoo answers help doesn't help - can u?

When I read a question, I always try to read through the existing answers before adding my own comments. However, after I post my answer, I quite often find that others answers are there that didn't show up before. Sometimes what I have just said has already been said. How can I see ALL the answers before I type out my own?

Anyone who knows that answer can probably answer this also: How do I delete questions that have been resolved from my list of answered questions?
