  • Why should I expect any different?

I know an elderly woman on a fixed income who needed to get all of her teeth removed and replaced with dentures. She found a dental clinic who agreed to perform the steps for a minimal income based fee. The plan they proposed was to remove the left half of her teeth first, wait 3 months, remove the right half, wait 4 months and then get her fitted for the dentures. So everything should be completed in 7 months.

She went in to have the left side removed but they only removed the top left but left the bottoms in...when she called to ask about it, they said oops we must have made a mistake. She had to wait 3 months to get the lower left hand side removed AND had to pay for the service AGAIN. Then she waited the 3 months to get the right hand side removed but couldn't get an appointment for 2 more months. Once she finally got the right hand side removed and waited the required 4 months to go in for the fitting she can't get anyone to answer the phone. For 2 months now she has been calling 3 to 4 times per day every weekday but she cannot get anyone on the phone that can get her an appointment. Anyone that actually answers tells he that they need to transfer her and then the phone just rings and rings and finally a message that everyone is busy please call back.

So now 13 months in she still has not been fitted for her dentures. This is a GOVERNMENT RUN dental clinic. Should we expect any thing differently? This is about how efficient other government entities are run. Why would anyone want this level of service for everyone?

  • Since Liberals claim that they are the richest people?

Since Liberals claim that they are the richest people and they all agree that they want to tax the rich, why don't they just send in what ever extra money they want to each year when they file a return?

Also wouldn't this mean that it's liberals who run those evil corporations, banks and Wall Street?

  • Why not cut Medicare out completely?

Liberals are touting Obamacare as the greatest thing to ever happen to the US health care system. Yet all it really does if force individuals that do not get insurance from their employer to get their own insurance policy. If you are really poor the government may help you pay for the policy. The Paul Ryan plan is what the LIberals are using as "proof" that Republicans want to "destroy Medicare and kill the elderly". However the Ryan plan calls for turning Medicare into a voucher, which would be used to purchase private health insurance. This is basically turning Medicare INTO THE OBAMACARE PLAN. So if Obamacare is so great why shouldn't everyone be on it? Why do we need two different plans? Shouldn't we just allow seniors to also get on the awesome and great Obamacare plan? Or is it that the Obamacare plan sucks too bad?

  • Would you agree with my tax solution?

I know Liberals want taxes to go up and Conservatives want less taxes for businesses to encourage economic growth and job creation, so how can we accomplish both in a fair way?

How about we significantly RAISE import taxes and eliminate export taxes. This would make American made goods cheaper for Americans and more competitive abroad thus creating US jobs and raising government revenue.

Also we should abolish Federal income tax all together and go to a Federal Sales tax system. Groceries would be tax exempt and high end sports cars, yachts, mansions would be taxed at a luxury tax rate. The poor would pay very little to none in taxes since they would mainly only buy groceries. The rich would pay more since they would spend the most. Illegal aliens, drug dealers, and other cash only people would also be forced to pay their fair share that they are not today, since you can't hide your money from the cash register. This also eliminates ALL tax loopholes and removes any reason for the rich to stash their money in Swiss bank accounts, so they can bring their cash back to US banks thus helping to improve our economy.

This is a one two punch combination that should raise revenue for the government, encourage job creation by companies, provide liquidity to US banks, and encourage the public to save and invest their money.

  • Timmy G made me lose over $15k?

I didn't move my 401k to cash since Tim Geithner swore there was no risk of a downgrade. Now I have lost $15k and by the time I can sell on Monday I expect this number to at least double. Can I sue Timmy G for damages?

  • Why are the liberals/Democrats blaming the Tea Party for the credit downgrade?

Why are the liberals/Democrats blaming the Tea Party for the credit downgrade when S&P claims they did so because there were not enough cuts to government spending. The Tea Party was FOR more cuts to government spending. It was the Democrats that prevented the deeper cuts.

From the Article on the front page of Yahoo right now: (read that last sentence twice)

Credit rating agency Standard & Poor's on Friday downgraded the nation's rating for the first time since the U.S. won the top ranking in 1917. The move came after Congress haggled over budget cuts and the nation's borrowing limit -- and failed to cut enough government spending to satisfy S&P.

  • Who is really responsible for creating the nations debt?

Considering the House of Representatives are really the ones in control of the US budget and spending, shouldn't we be blaming whoever controlled the House for the budget problems?

Looking at a chart of which party controlled the House and when, you will see that the Dems dominated the House of Representatives from 1949, until 1995. This would mean the House Democrats own the debt all the way up until Clinton was already in office. Then it looks like the Republicans finally won the House in 1995 and then created the Clinton Surplus and held it until Dems took back over in 2007 under Bush's second term. Oddly enough it was the end of 2007 (after the Dems held the House for a year) when the economy died and the recession hit. Coincidence?

So will the Democrats now own up to the fact that them being in control of the House is what has really caused the national debt to skyrocket?

  • Should COBRA be included in Unemployment?

Someone else's question got me to thinking about the unemployed and COBRA coverage. We all know that if a person is laid off they can draw unemployment benefits (UE), but unless they pay for COBRA they lose their company provided health care benefits. Since UE is generally significantly less than their working salary, affording COBRA by not be possible. So that brings up the question: Do you think COBRA coverage be included in Unemployment Benefits? Why or why not?

  • Help with low throughput?

I have two computers both are Windows XP SP3, both have 512MB RAM both have close to the same processor speed (800MHz and 1000Mhz). On the 1kMhz box it has a LOT of programs, was setup years ago and has not been cleaned off....yet going to speedtest.net I show 20Mbs download speeds. On the 800Mhz box that I recently setup for my kid as a learning box and has nearly nothing installed on it, I am only getting 2Mbs to 3Mbs download speed. I thought maybe it could be a problem in the actual network cable so I even tried swapping cables around yet the problem remains on the newly setup XP box. What could cause such a speed difference between two nearly identical machines?

  • Manufacturer of a specific bed sheet set?

I am trying to find contact information for the manufacturer of a specific bed sheet set. If anyone can tell me at least the name of the manufacturer it would help, but a phone number, address, or website would be awesome. I believe I have heard this called a "Morgan Teen" set but I can't find any company called "Morgan Teen" so I am pretty much stuck.

If I post a link, my question won't show on Y!A so copy the following line to a browser replace the spaces with a period.

So would you vote for him? Why or why not?

  • How is this "Budget Crisis" the Republicans fault?

The fiscal year 2011 budget was supposed to have been passed last year when the Democrats held the majority in BOTH houses, but they didn't even propose a budget. The instead just kept spending with no limitations. Now that Republicans have control of the House they have passed a long term budget that the Senate refuses to even vote on, AND they have made at least two short term budget proposals that the Senate and Obama are rejecting. According to an Associated Press article the reason the Democrats are rejecting all the Republican proposals is that they don't want to "forfeit leverage."

So in a nutshell Democrats failed to pass the required budget when they held the House, the Senate, AND the Presidency and are now rejecting every Republican proposal offered in order to not lose leverage and to keep spending like money grows on trees. So I want to know how is any of this the Republican's fault?

  • Would this make a better voting system in the US?

What if we changed the voting system so that people don't get to "vote" for a candidate at all.

Voters would instead get a list of the current topics and for each topic they choose if they are for or against the topic. Their vote is then cast for the candidate that answered the most questions the same as the voter. This ensures you vote for the candidate that most represents what you want or if you really wanted a specific candidate then you would have to at least know 100% what they stand for. This would also prevent people voting for people based solely on looks, party affiliation, or name recognition.

  • Why do so many Liberals want a Healthcare system like Canada?

Why do so many Liberals want a Healthcare system like Canada when the Canadian government can pull the plug on a sick toddler forcing his parent to move to the US to get the care he needs? That is just horrible. We should be thankful to live in a country where WE get to choose when to pull the plug and not some bureaucrat.
