Is it me, or do lefthanded shooters in basketball have a distinct shot form?
I am reading about left-handedness in non-sport contexts, but as a player and coach for many years, I have always wondered why (it seems) the lefties I have been around don't typically have "textbook" style shot forms. They tend to be more looping and armsy, a little less compact and efficient. However, I seem to recall lefties as being better shooters relative to the 95% of righties that play the sport. Any thoughts? I am reminded of guys like Manu, Bosh, and Michael Redd from years ago.
1 AnswerBasketball7 years agoI am into Macs and I need a laptop. What are the pros and cons of buying a Macbook v. the Air v. the Pro?
I have a 13 in. Macbook but it's on its last legs. I want something else that lets me play videos/movies, listen to music, create iMovies, serf, and obviously be mobile enough to slip into a backback.

At least I think it was a giant squid. Thanks.
2 AnswersPolls & Surveys8 years agoWhat songs should I add to my cycling playlist?
I'm riding in a 24 hr mtn bike race this weekend and will listen to tunes for stretches. What songs are you folks listening to? I like upbeat but can't get into electronic music which is too fast. My first four songs on my current playlist are It's Time by Imagine Dragons, Scream and Shout, Young Folks by Peter Bjorn, and This is what it feels like by Armin van Buuren. But later I've also got everything from Erik B. and Rakim and Run DMC to The Lumineers and Alice in Chains. An eclectic mix and I have no problem mixing it up even more. Thanks.
5 AnswersCycling8 years agoWhen I shift my rear derailleur, there's a sharp creaking sound. Any thoughts?
I changed a flat at home, stuck the tire back on the bike, then went through the motions of checking my shifting. I can't seem to localize the problem, which are sharp creaking sounds every time I shift. It's not happening when I move the derailleur with my hands, only when I shift to bigger rings. Could it be within the component, or my dropout? I can't imagine that it's my frame since I rode the bike this week prior to the flat without any problem or messed up sounds.
1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs8 years agowhat would a package (12 pieces or so) of R-12 batt insulation cost me?
I am not sure about thicknesses, but if you could give me an idea based on a standard thickness and size (16 width I presume and 4 ft?)
2 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)8 years agoWill my old Sigma 70-300mm DL Macro lens work on a dslr camera?
My wife has an old Rebel EOS camera. I am not too interested in using a film camera anytime soon, but I want to know if this lens could come in handy if I end up buying a dslr camera.
4 AnswersCameras8 years agoHow comfortable is it sleeping in a minivan?
I can't find a hotel room for a certain night this summer and I have a minivan rented. I figure I may just have to sleep in it for a night. Would it be a decent experience for a 6 ft male? I have a bike race the next day so I'd kind of like to have a good sleep. Thanks.
2 AnswersSafety1 decade agoWhy is my bike creaking?
My road bike creaks only when I stand and pedal with power. It's especially loud when I work the bike from side to side. If I pedal in my biggest gear while in my seat, there's no sound. You think it's pedal, crank, frame, bottom bracket? Are there easy ways to check without taking parts off?
11 AnswersCycling1 decade agoIf you step on a player's hockey stick is it a penalty, if it's deemed to be on purpose? What would the offic?
We were playing street hockey and buddy whiffed on a game tying shot cause he said his stick was stepped on for a second. It was right in front of the net and there must have been 6 bodies in the skirmish.
4 AnswersHockey1 decade agoWhat NFL team should I cheer for?
I love hockey and the NBA, but I have only recently grown interested in the NFL. I am from northern Canada and would love to become a born-again NFL fan! I am hoping that some football fans out there might try to convince me why I should jump on their bandwagons and become a fan of their teams. I am partial towards tough defenses since we all know the adage about what wins championships, and I would also like a team on the rise though not necessarily one that's already in the elite ranks. I guess I'd love to be a part of the journey! Thanks.
