  • Raspberry Pi TTL Drivers?

Hello, I am totally new to the raspberry pi and Linux environments. I have a self-made USB to TTL (date connections only) cable which I plan to use to control the raspberry pi. I was wondering how I could obtain the drivers for my setup (if they are even needed?) for Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) and Windows 7 Enterprise (32-bit)? Are there any specific installation instructions that must be followed for this type of setup? I am planning to use it to have my Raspberry Pi screen (i.e. Graphics interface) on my PC/Mac screen, so as not to have my small desk cluttered with keyboards/mice too much. My Raspberry Pi is a Model B+ (512MB RAM) running the latest version of Raspbian (updated today at 3pm)! Thank you in advance for your kind help!

  • Raspberry Pi TTL Lead for B+ Model?

    Hello!

I am relatively new to the raspberry pi, but have heard about TTL to USB cables which allow me to use RPi without any hardware. However, I have only seen it used in the B model, and wanted to know if it's availeable for the B+ model. Also, I have a number of unused USB cables. Could I strip one of them, and attach the appropriate connector (which I have), and use it as a TTL Lead or are there any risks associated with it?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Maths Question?

    Given s=log[b] (y), express in terms of s, (log[b]by^2) + (log[b](sqrt(y)))+(log[b]((by)^2)))

ie. gives s=log base b of by squared, express in terms of s, 4log base b of (by) squared plus log base b of square root of y + log base b of (by) to be squared.

  • Should I upgrade from OS X Mavericks to Yosemite?

    Hello!

I am relatively new to Mac and OS X worlds. I have bought a used Apple Mac Book Air (13-inch, i5 processor, 4GB RAM, late 2011), running Mavericks just three days ago. However, I have found out that Microsoft s great note-taking program (OneNote), is no longer supported on Mavericks and requires OS X 10.10. I have been reading contrasting reviews on the internet about Yosemite slowing down machines terribly, and so, before doing something I may repent, I wanted to be sure: is there any risk associated with it or can I proceed safely to upgrade? If so, how long will it take and would it be possible to have detailed instructions on the upgrading process on mac? I have always had Windows and Linux at home, so I would not be an expert on Mac environment.

    Thank you in advance!

  • Is light a form of energy, even though it is composed of photons, which have a (very small) mass?

THe definition of energy states that "energy does not have mass", however, as far as i know, photons are the components of light, and although their mass is negligible, it is still there. So my question is: theoretically speaking, is light to be considered as a form of energy or not? Thanks.

  • Fuses on Celestron Power Tank!?

Hello there! Just wondering if I could use a 1A fuse for my powertank, which is meant to give out 1A current! The fuse that was preinstalled was a 2A, but i blew it accidentally, so now i am wondering: would it still work if I put in a 1A fuse or not?

    Thank you!
