Do you believe in Demons? have you met one?Are you Christian?

Not ever having met a demon or knowingg anyone else that has, it strikes me as rather strange how many christians in the thread http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AoLQLpW2QwrM6N4L_B.Y6XPzy6IX?qid=1006012503656

believe that this woman/girl is experiencing demonic possession. What is interesting, however, is that many seem to believe that she must have sinned to bring it on. I would tend to think that this is her own subconscious reacting to the brainwashing she recieves at her "fire and brimstone " church . What do you think?

Mea Culpa! I don't know where I got the idea that you were a woman and I also apologize for confusing an external manifestation with demonic posession. Given that all of this is so outside my sphere of experience and knowledge, I was merely trying to learn what other people think.
But while we're on the subject, you seem very defensive about all of this ( as in me thinks you doth protest too much) Perhaps now that I know you are a man or boy, that the specific sin is in regards to latent homosexual desire. Were those present to witness the manifestation the objects of your desire?

I met one. She sent me out of the class for no reason when I was at school. She was my maths teacher.

What part of my question did you misunderstand??? I was not bothered by a evil spirit from within me.

That creature was like another person… not in me!!

He could not get in me… the Lord Jesus Christ lives in me!

I believe in my heart that Jesus is Lord and that he was raised from the dead. I believe that Jesus came in the flesh… to be a sin offering… so that he could redeem me. I am a Christian… I cannot be demon possessed! Do you really think that the Holy Spirit would share a person’s heart/soul/spirit with a demon??? That is like... blasphemous!

What is wrong with your mind, man?! And where did you get the idea that I was a woman? There must be a devil beside you! (not literally).

What I experienced was nothing to do with my mind! Other people around saw the creature, he was persecuting me. That’s called oppression!

--- Edit:

I am not a homosexual! That is sin...
Satan might be... but I'm not!

I am trying to be pure and righteous in the sight of God. I would not be pure or righteous if I were a homosexual. The only thing that I am guilty of (in the past days) is anger (things can make me angry, I am human), and opposing the devil to his face (and that's not sin).

I am truly repentant of my sins... and God is faithful to forgive me. Why do people believe that you get persecuted because you sinned? Do you think Jesus sinned? I don't.

Edit:
I changed my image. Where did you get the 'homosexual' idea??

You should watch the movie Emily Rose. How much do we know? Less than we think.

Most instances of demon possession are indeed medical problems or likely some kind of mental illness. But I still defer to Hamlet, when he says, "There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreampt of in thy philosophy."

Like I said, I thought that movie intelligently looked at things from both angles. If you read the comments that she made on Jan. 25 - this is obviously an intelligent person who does not appreciate what she considers to be patronization.

Is she totally out to lunch? It is not for me to say. Could be a mental health issue... could be something else. Not for me to make that call. I am neither a psychiatric specialist or a diocesan exorcist...

there is no brainwashing in that. I am a Christian. I know all about fallen angels. The Bible says that they exist. and this individual committed no sin. fallen angelic existence is a fact... just as God's existence is fact. Jesus was tempted by the devil... and he saw the devil physically too.

spiritual warfare is extremely active when a Disciple is trying to do what is right. Consider Job, Paul, and the 7 churches in the first section of Revelation. Did Jesus sin? no. Did Job sin? no. Did Paul sin? no. and so on.

Paul's thorn was a evil spirit tormenting him. that thing was sent by Satan to torment him... why did God allow that?? So that Paul would not become conceited. Satan’s intention was harm… God intended to help Paul.

Oh… and what about Peter… Satan bothered him… he sifted him as wheat.

You think as you do because many of the Christians of today are worldly… and Satan doesn’t care to bother them… loving the world shows hatred toward God.

this individual is not demon possessed... but oppressed by Heylel. demon-possession is being controlled from within by a evil spirit. he/she was not being controlled... but tormented. oppression can occur to Christians... but not possession.

Yes, I'm a Christian, and I fully believe that demons exist. Just look at the Bible! There are SO many instances where they are present. No, I haven't personally met one, but I know people whom I fully trust who have. From what Iread, I think that the person in this thread is not experiencing demonic possession. I think that it is Satan trying to persecute and shake her faith in God. If she is truly a born-again Christian, the devil wants nothing more than to shake her, and destroy her!
