Why do so many people honestly believe you can not choose the sex of your child?

I'm not talking about the ethics of sex selection. I'm not promoting it in anyway.

I'm speaking of people that believe that science can't let couple choose or boy or a girl. It honestly boggles my mind. It does exist if you have the money for it.

But why do you think so many people are not informed? And once they have been informed, why do you think its so hard for them to believe?

If you don't believe me, just type in sperm sorting and sex selection in any search box.

Here's a link to a news article on the subject:

I'm not questioning the ethics. I actually am against messing with nature. But I just don't get what’s so "unbelievable" about the technology to choose the sex of a child before its born.

I think it’s important for men and women to be aware so that regulations can be set in place. But if people aren't aware, then how society put regulations in place that prohibit the process of custom designing life?

I don't want ethics. I want answers.

I have a problem with people that want to choose certain characteristics for their child. I can understand for couples who are unable to concieve - they will take whatever they can, but those who want to choose certain hair color or whatever, how natural can your baby be? How real is it? Once you alter such things it's not even what it was supposed to be anymore!

Because most ppl dont see that as an option and dont want to mess with nature. Everyone should just be happy that God makes it possible for them to even concieve.

it's really nice that you can choose the sex of your child but this could also lead to problems in a couple, for example i want a girl and my boyfriend wants a boy so God gets to decide for us what it will be so that we don't have to fight
