Get about 1/4 cup peroxide and put a drop of Dawn dish stuff in it and stir. Works like a charm on almost every stain, blood for sure.

Carrie, do NOT listen to the other replies, as all of them have mentioned using chemicals that can dye your carpet and once that happens there is no way for it to be fixed. Blood is organic, which means that you can use effectively use a product like Oxyclean, which works really well at removing orgsanic stains. Make sure you pour a substantial amount on the stain and then add drops of water and try to rub it tro create a paste on top of the stain. You may need to repeat the process several times. Also, use cold water to try to dab (not rub) at the stain, soaking up as much blood as you can. After you've done as well as you can, you can use hot water with the oxyclean, but plan on doing several treatments. I hope that helps you!

I use hydrogen peroxide or undiluted lemon juice to remove blood from my carpets. This happened to me once when one of my dogs lost a toenail and it took the stain out. Just make sure that it does not discolor the carpet. Try it on a hidden area first. You could also try club soda cause I use that when my kids have spilled kool-aid or red soda pop on the carpet and that worked also. If using the peroxide or lemon juice, you have to saturate the stain then wait 15 mins and blot it up with a towel.

This will remove your blood stain, Blood on the rug

When you get blood on your rug, rub off as much as you can at first, then take a cloth soaked in cold water and wet the spot, wiping it up as you go. If a little bit remains, pour some ammonia onto the cool, wet cloth and lightly wipe that over the spot, too. Rinse it right away with cold water.

Good Luck !

Since Hydrogen peroxide is a blood cleaner and "eater" buy some hydrogen peroxide, probably in the medical section of the store, and put a little on the stain. It should fizz up and the stain should be gone once you wash the fizz off.
