What do the different colors around top answerers mean?

For example, if you go to the Diseases and Conditions page under the Health section, on the top of the page it shows I am the top answerer in the Diseases and Conditions section. I have a purple colored border around my avatar sometimes and sometimes it's a blue color.

Do these colors mean anything? They just started appearing recently. Thanks!

"expert".

I think the blue one is when you haven't click the avatar of the top answerer. The violet one is when you already clicked the avatar. Just like other links after you click them.

I'm the lead in the Geography section.
Yet I'm no expert!

I too would love what the different colors mean and I do agree with marcelino that , with the links of a hyper link , the changing colors could represent if a user has recently visited the profile via the link provided.

However when looking at Yahoo Answers uk computers and Internet , my banner appears to be bright yellow , and I was told this represents being a featured user.

I am unsure however if anything it must be to draw attention to the account and category leader.

All the best
