Would you get a tattoo from a tattoo artist who did not have a tattoo? I just wonder because it looks like having a body covered with tatts is a criteria to giving people tattoos.

If you don't have any tattoos, that's okay you can still answer. Personally I don't have any but was just curious.

I agree with K, if they have a license that's all I worry about. Besides, it does not show their work, because they probably didn't do their own tattoos!
The person who gave me my last tattoo didn't have any herself, but she had 4 piercings and worked in a tattoo/piercing parlor so I felt comfortable having her do it. I talked to her quite a bit before hand and she really knew her stuff. On the other hand the people I don't trust are the ones who work out of their homes and are covered with tats, but most of them look like they were done by a first grader just learning how to draw. I wouldn't trust them as much if at all. It's more about quality over quantity for me.
Not having tattoos is probably a bad choice for someone who does that for a living. I know a few artists and most have a bunch of tats and I know one with only one tattoo. I also know someone that owns a parlor and has few but is into the piercings. Those things come with the job. Doubt I would take one from someone without any ink though.
Yes, But I would want to see pics of his previous work. Maybe he is waiting on the right tattoo... I really get creeped out by tattoo artist with a million tats. Maybe this guy has a little class?
I've eaten a lot of good food from people who were skinny as a bean pole, so that really doesn't say anything about his work. If he has a binder and great credentials, make sure you check him out thoroughly -That everything is clean and it's good to even talk to others who have used this same artist.Take all the necessary precautions and explore. This is very serious and vital for your good health. Good Luck!!
