If he's to a US citizen, he'll also face deportation to his home country.

He should receive a jail sentence of 5 years. However, being that this is first offense, this could be reduced drastically. It would have to depend on the mood of the judge, or how merciful he might be feeling on that day.
If he is here on a Green Card, or is a Naturalized US citizen, then he will not receive any special treatment.Being born outside of the USA does not entitle you to any different defense. On the contrary, if he is here without proper visa, etc., then he is also likely to be deported following the completion of his jail sentence. In which case, you have the possibility of getting him out of jail by appealing to have him deported earlier. Considering the over-population of our prisons, a judge may consider this possibility.

Are you from the US? If so, go back to school and learn how to use correct grammar. Possession of controlled substances in the US is a growing problem. Whatever amount of time your friends should have to spend in jail for his illegal actions might ultimately result in them becoming a better human being. One who does not need to make money illegally.
