What do you think about 'missing spouses'..and the other spouse doesn't cooperate with law enforcement?

More and more..spouses go 'missing'..leaving their personal items behind..Leaving young children..and the other spouse doesn't want to cooperate with law enforcement. It is very strange for a spouse to just go missing..what are the deeper issues within these marriages?
What is your opinions on these kinds of 'missing person cases"?

When they don't cooperate, it automatically makes me think that they had not only something to do it, but everything to do with the disappearance of their spouse.

Actually, I'm guessing part of this seeming more common has to do with media hype. People go missing all over the world on a surprisingly regular basis.

That said, these cases are obviously fascinating. At least some of the time, we know the spouse has simply killed the missing partner and we have not found the body yet. But, on the other side, I've been unhappily married. If your marriage isn't working and your spouse wants to run, offering to go away and leave you the kids, you should totally support them. (And, take that secret to your grave to protect the children.)

You can safely assume something is going on behind the scenes...no sane husband (or wife) would just sit around while their beloved partner was "missing". But, I try not to judge without evidence, relationships are messy business and people make some decisions that would surprise you.

I think that law enforcement does not care as much about your missing spouse as you do. To them, it's just another day's work. To you, it's your better half, your life partner, your one true love. How could I just sit back and wait for some knucklehead cops to do their job if my wife was missing? Are you kidding me? I'd be out there tearing the whole world apart if I had to just to find her.

I wonder where you're getting "More and more". I'd like to see statistics supporting that, because I don't believe it.
