A miniature transparency viewer attached to a key ring (the transparency shows me, aged about 10, in school uniform); a brooch (pin); a lipstick my late mother used to wear when I was young - I'd kept it because its perfume was so reminiscent of her ... and my childhood; a sprig of (dried) heather my late grandfather kept in a little jug on the shelf of his workroom; an origami paper boat, made by an ex colleague; a shell from a childhood seaside holiday; a tiny porcelain Siamese cat brought back from holiday by a friend; a small square box of blue card decorated with The Simpsons cartoon stickers, made for me by a former boss's daughter when she was a little girl; a tie clip with a blue enamelled 'badge' bearing the legend 'Calcutta'.

I found a poem I had written 10 yrs.ago to commemorate a former teacher /mentor's 80th birthday.
I also found a spiffy picture of myself swinging from a rope while visiting "Dollywood" in Tenn!. It was taken in 1988. Along with that was a photo of an elderly lady who might have been Dolly Parton's grandmother, and myself . She was wearing a gun holster and a long dress.I recall she kept calling me a "Yankee". I remember it clearly. I also found a beautiful card that had been given to me by that same teacher friend when my oldest son was born, and a postcard from an old boyfriend of my teen years, when he was in the Marines. Odd combination of items but it brought back some pleasant memories.
