What would it roughly cost to put in a VR6?

I have an old Jetta MKII (1992) that may not make it much farther on it's current 4 cylinders. If I'm gonna replace the engine soon, I would like to put a VR6 in. What would it cost to do that? I mean roughly, like how many thousands of dollars should I expect to put into my car with the engine and installation? Lets assume I'm getting a new one and having it installed professionally.

It would probably be cheaper for you to just buy a mkIII or mkIV jetta vr6 and if you really wanted to, then do the swap since you have all the parts necessary for this doner Jetta, if you really wanted to keep your mkII.

You need more than an engine, you need a new transmission too, the VR6 doesn't fit with the tranny from the 4 cylinder. It's a big job, and will probably end up costing you more than buying a new used car. Not really worth it, in my opinion.
