Ipod touch dropped in water, HELP?

I was taking a whiz and the ipod touch, 4th gen, 32 GB fell into the toilet. I fished it out IMMIDEITTLY and checked to make sure everything was working. Unfortunately, The sound Meter on videos and when I pressed the sounds buttons on the side had dissapeared and the sound didn't work with or without headsets on any volume. I dried it off with a towl and then shut it down and on again twice, and the sound appears to have a similar problem, the meter is back, but the sounds randomly turns itself to full volume or it turns all the way down. The problem with that is one, i have no sound, or too much sound, and two, the stupid box with the speaker on it and the sound meter that appears in the middle of your screen when you adjust the volume won't go away because the ipod sound is setting itself. I have put the Ipod in a bag of rice because I read thats what you should do to take out moisture, but beyond that I need serious help. I would like to know how to fix it, ill try anything, and if it's IMPOSSIBLE to fix it, how much it is to get repaired, I have NO warranty, and got it from Craigslist. thanks so much to anyone who takes the time to give me a actual answer!

My sisters got put in a WASHER MACHINE and it works. Let it dry for like a month or two and put it on a heater untill it gets warm maybe 2 or 3 times wait untill its completely cooled down. And try it out. Hope this helped :)

Idn if they can do much when you don't have warranty.. But this is the only option I can think of..call the USA Apple Hotline (get number off internet not hard to find) and they might be able to allow it to get sent in and fixed or a new sent out to you.
Mine had warrenty the screen was badly cracked and after sitting for awhile in a place that had some moisture it got the white screen and I couldn't see clearly.. I took to the iPod to this one place at the mall Apple/Source place like that that sold apple products, the store could send it to someplace but it would take longer to get one sent back and not as trustworthy as the hotline. So I did the hotline and got a new iPod back in about 8 days. Mine had a year warranty..I don't know if same applys for people without warranty. I hope this somewhat helps you.. Best Buy, London Drugs, The Source, (any magure place that sells lots of apple products) might be able to help you, and give you more suggestions.

attempt to examine all the water is out. What my buddy did develop into placed his Ipod in a bag of rice, because the rice absorbs the water.otherwise,it will be a technical difficulty so bypass to an apple keep to get it repaired.
