Are all laptops going to 64 bit?
I know that you can still get some that are 32 bit, but looking for a new one, about 2/3 are 64 bit. Is 32 bit obsolete?

Well, seeing how having more than 3 gig active ram is getting more normal/popular, I'd say yes. Eventually anyways.

32 bit is growing obsolete. It may be for your purposes 32 bit will be fine, and you might be able to save some money. For heavy duty computing, like serious gaming or video editing, 64 bit is needed to take full advantage of all the software that is out there.
I am currently on a 32 bit computer that is a couple of years old. My next one will definitely be 64 bit because I do video editing.

Yes its obsolete as far as hardware goes as CPU's are all 64bit now. Windows only does 32bit versions because of legacy hardware, a lot of people still run ancient systems.
A lot of programs are also still 32bit but windows 64 and 64bit hardware run them fine.
