a) Run it: it is symbolic b) delay it for a week or two; people still need help c) cancel it; there is always next year d) are you crazy wasting resources on a marathon at a time like this? e) I want to run in/watch the race f) other: describe your attitude.
I'm an Englishman, not an American or a New Yorker, I can't really understand the devastation or loss Hurricane Sandy has had on the east coast of the United States. However, like the London Marathon, the New York Marathon raises a tremendous amount of money each year for worthy causes, many of whom, I suspect, require donations now more than ever. Certainly, no more resources, such as the NYPD, should be dedicated than need be, but the marathon will bring a much needed moral and economic boost to the city.
If by no skill have achieved a marathon before, 10 months are no longer adequate to coach and complete it without risking injuries. A marathon isn't a comedian tale. that's a beautyful experience, besides the fact that it could additionally grow to be a terribl nightmare. i'm particular which you rather choose for to run the marathon and enjoy each and every step of it. The marathon is a undesirable attempt for the physique. that's in many situations counseled to start education for a marathon after a minimum of one 3 hundred and sixty 5 days of conventional working. i could propose to start working now, and think of with regard to the marathon next 3 hundred and sixty 5 days.
F) one thing important to all humans is the feeling of normalcy. The need for distraction when down. While it does seem odd there are no watsing of resources. If there was the government would not allow it. Everything set for this race has been planned for a year. There is very little resouses use, some cups and water?!? People from around the world are already in NYC to race why not do it? Put it on TV show the world you can't keep NYC or it's people down!!!!!
Mayor Bloomberg has can canceled it. He was getting too much flack from citizens etc. because he was using resources that could better help the victims to supply tents, food, heat etc to the participants and volunteers. The Mayor should have canceled it on Tuesday. I wonder what all those runners that have already arrived and will be arriving today from other States and Countries will do for at least the next week? It is going to cause them a lot of extra expense.
