Why has the US government supported (and continues to support) the rich?

I understand why the rich need the government on their side, but what is the government gaining from this relationship?

While the government itself receives nothing in this relationship, the politicians reap untold riches for supporting the wealthy class.

REVOLVING DOOR
51 out of 61 Altria Group lobbyists in 2012 have previously held government jobs

And that is just one company.

Also, the 5 minute video (second source) excellently explains how the American Legislative Exchange Council helps politicians via "scholarships." They literally wine and dine politicians and send them to vacation resorts. It's so terrible that states like Minnesota have banned such "scholarships" altogether.

There are only rich people in the United States of America. There are no poor people under capitalism. See Haiti and Uganda, the people of those capitalist countries are 'the face of the richness'.

I never got a job from a poor person. I will support the rich over the parasites any day.
