I had a camera down my throat and was told my voice needs to be retrained. Sometimes I have difficulty even speaking. I was a good singer and loved jam nights. I can't afford professional help so does anyone know how I begin?
Tonight I cried I have to do this.

I'm sorry, but this is a medical situation. Hormones in the Depo-provera have caused some changes to your vocal cords and the way they respond. Only a doctor can tell you if this is just temporary until your body adapts to the medication or if this is a more long-lasting or permanent change. If you had a "camera" down your throat, you have already been to see an ENT? If the doctor says your voice needs to be retrained, then it needs to be retrained. You aren't going to substitute drinking tea or "singing from the diaphragm" or whatever nonsense some 15 year old will suggest. Speak to the ENT and see if he has names of any vocal coaches or teachers that specialize in rehabilitation for singers. There are voice therapists that work with speaking voices and those that work with singers, and some that do both.
You can't afford NOT to get help. See if your insurance will cover the cost of some of the rehabilitation since it does relate to your ability to communicate normally.
