HP Pavilion Windows 8.1 Laptop no WiFi reception?

Airplane mode is off on this laptop. WiFi indicator on laptop shows no signal bars but my Android says signal excellent. Hard cable connection on my laptop works well. Any ideas why no WiFi signal?. I tried to find where device manager might be off but don't know where to look, Help

Ok I have to ask. Have you held down the "Fn" key on the bottom left of the keyboard beside the "Ctrl" key and then click the "F12" key which should have the icon shown below on it?
