Have you dated someone you met online?

I haven't, mainly because I am 42 years old and when I met my first wife meeting people online wasn't really a thing yet and when my first wife and I divorced I was working around 65 hours a week and running a small business so I had no time to screw around on the internet. My brother met his wife online and they have been together for over 12 years now. You really don't know anything about anyone when you first meet them regardless of where you met them so I don't think e-dating is a bad thing, though the long distance e-dating seems kind of foolish to me, but that's just me.

I can guarantee you there's nothing wrong with dating online and/or long distance. In fact, it may be even better than finding someone in real life. You can express yourself easier, you can get to know each other much faster no matter where y'all are, and there are NO REGRETS if it doesn't work out.

Your area may have women, sure. Even the areas outside of your own. But online, you can find anyone. The options are a thousand-fold, so find someone you would be most interested in. Now how likely is that in an area compared to the 'world wide' web?

If you are concerned about people faking their identity, there are many ways you can find out and guarantee they are who they say they are. You can't fail. Just improvise. You can ask for a very specific photo, or video chat with them; make things like this mandatory so you don't fall prey to the trolls and liars.

And remember, if 2 people love one another, there's no force on the planet stopping them from meeting each other in the flesh one day.

No, when I met my husband there was no such thing as internet. people had to actually go outside in the world and interact with each other.
