Well, I'm not a doctor, but it sounds like you either pulled a muscle/tendon, or you have a bone spur. You can research bone spurs on any medical site. It causes a lot of pain and usually requires surgery to shave it down. I had a friend who had the procedure done recently, otherwise I wouldn't have known about the condition. Look into it. Good luck.

a bruise or strain to a bone or joint can have afflictions to other parts of the same area, and move on to other areas, because we will walk differently, put weight differently than normal, causing more stress on muscles and joints that don't NORMALLY get this type of stress. I do agree with the ibprofen. You also should get a heat rub, and soak it in as hot a water as you can, and try to not walk on it. Massage it frequently, but let it breathe late at night in bed. Get a crutch or walking cane, and don't put pressure on it. If after a couple of weeks it doesn't get better, go see a doctor.

You could have a planters wart. I have one that keeps coming back on the ball of my foot just behind my middle toe that I dig out when it starts to hurt.
