No, because I'm not obsessed with God. I think that the Harry Potter books are the most amazing books I have ever read. I think that being very religious is being closed-minded and disrespectful. It is not evil simply to write a story! It's wonderful and changes how kids ead all over the world! J.K. Rowling is a true genius! She's very amazing and creative! Paganism or whatever it's called is`kind of mean to discriminate again pure literature, just because it's writing about things that paganists don't beieve in!
It's like killing someone just because they wore a sweater.
Because maybe, we believe in Harry Potter, or atheism, or buddism, or chistianity, or paganism, or the religeon of writing. That's just who we are. Us. But I am ashamed to be christian, hearing what some people said. That's just SICK, hearing you describe a storybook character as a stupid little orphan. Because that is exactly what the mean characters in the book said. Ironic, and so coincidental, is'nt it?

Well, of course it isn't evil to write a fictitious story. I read them all the time. But, it's what the content of the story is that matters. What harry potter represents is a form of magic. black magic, i would think. it's evil in the way that the "magical spirits" help him to overcome his obstacles. and from what little bit i have seen/read, it seems to me that the harry potter books/movies are kind of related to satanic things.
I think that the overall, basic fact of the movies/books concerning harry potter is a form of "battle" between good and evil. and there's nothing wrong with that. absolutely nothing wrong with it. it's just the way that they presented it. Example? ok. here's one. most everyone likes ice cream, right? but say that someone came up to you and just smushed a big thing of ice cream into your face. how would you like that? you wouldn't really be thinking about how good the ice cream was; you'd be thinking about getting revenge on that person for what they did to you. but, if that ice cream had been presented to you in a bowl with the little strawberries or cherries (whichever you like) on top of it, you would have LOVED it. so, just, tell the truth. it's all in the way you present things. by the way... some people say that they're a christian just because they go to church. well, think about it this way : going to church doesn't make you any more of a christian than going to a car garage makes you an automobile.

Not Christian, but, I'll answer from my P.O.V., seeing as I'm Pagan!!!
The Harry Potter books are evil only for their inaccuracy. You cannot wave a wand and mutter a spell/mantra/incantation to have an instantaneous visible result. You just can't. That's among other things, such as the stereotypes of the Witch Hats and all. In Paganism, male witches and still witches.
For Christians who say it's Satan-Worship, religion's not mentioned in the movie, at all. For it being evil, the books do show a moot(sp?) point... magick is neutral, a person's intentions are good or evil.

God mentioned to abstain from all visual attraction of evil. there's a video out for Christians on Harry Potter. the girl that wrote the books mentioned she is a real witch, and the youngsters are chanting real magic. devil is father of magic. He additionally condemned all wizards, witches, and something this is evil. Acts 8:9-11, Gal 3:a million, Acts 19:13-sixteen. a million Samuel 28:3-8, Ex 22:18, Gal 5:20. Micah 5:12. there's a e book referred to as 10 issues Witches do no longer opt for Christians to appreciate. additionally He got here To Set the Captives loose. learn up on what each and all the evilness relatively is approximately. God needs us to stay faraway from it, and maximum of human beings say oh it won't have the ability to injury no person. they are only fooling their selves. devil needs us blinded to the actuality. Too many human beings only permit factor slide to any extent further. provide up and think of if God could be happy with what you're staring at, guffawing at, listening to, seeing and telling. in case you may say no. Then provide up doing it. I replaced my methods some time past. i'm no longer suitable, yet I additionally upward push up for what's sturdy. regardless of if i'm status on my own. I ought to stand in the previous God and supply an account with what I did with my life. i do no longer opt for to declare properly i did no longer understand. He mentioned lack of understanding isn't an excuse.

As a Christian... I don't know if the books and movies are "evil." But would I let my kids watch or read them NO!!! If there is any question in your mind. Then chances are, its better to stay away. Ask yourself this... do you really want your child going around acting like they're putting spells on people? You're just giving Satan a foothold in your home.

Evil is not the most accurate word, but it's close enough. Harry Potter inaccurately potrays spiritual things, some of which have a basis in reality.
As a Christian, we are admonished in the book of Ephesians that when we "see evil, do not participate in it, but expose it."

christians believe that witchcraft is evil. and because harry potter is fictitiously delving in witchcraft, they feel that it is the work of the devil.
that's so ironic, because they dont even understand that their own religion has many parallels with withcraft. many christian prayers involve chanting in which they try to invoke god to grant them their will.
wiccans invoke nature to grant them their will also through methods of chanting along with other rituals.
christians condemn the book harry potter, yet refuse to understand that the true meaning of the bible has been lost in translation and intent. editted and re-editted to suit the needs of the dominant society, in effect the bible has a sense of evil in it.
jesus himself used what christians might call witchcraft. bringing back someone from the dead? healing someone with a single touch? that's impossible. jesus was using some kind of magical art, that may have been practised years before his coming to earth.
harry potter isnt evil. christian paranoia is

PURE EVIL, that Harry Potter. I wouldn't let my kids be exposed to some story that glorifies some little pip squeak orphan kid with a scar on his forehead who run tries to overcome cruel step-parents, difficulties at school with mean teachers and bullies, not to mention some bad guys out to kill him. This sap of a kid has to lean on a couple of his best friends and a few supportive teachers just to help him along in the world.
That kid, Harry Potter doesn't ever mention JESUS in any of his stories!!!! He is truly of the devil!!!!!

The Harry Potter series celebrates witchcraft. God's Word is clear that witchcraft is evil. In the Old Testament, God commanded that those who practiced witchcraft were to be put to death. In the New Testament, which is the covenant which we live under, God's Word makes it clear that those who practice or celebrate witchcraft will NOT inherit His kingdom.
Galatians 5:19-21:
The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
In addition to the problem of witchcraft, the characters in Harry Potter are anything but Christ-like and, consequently, set bad examples for the readers. Just for one example, Harry Potter is extremely disrespectful of his parents and others in authority. This is contrary to God's Word.
