What exactly does it mean if you are double-jointed?

It means that the ligaments and tendons that hold your joints together are a little more lax (loose) then usual. Having this ligament laxity can make a person more prone to sprains and strains, but it can also be helpful in range of motion activities after being casted or otherwise immobilized. Very loose ligaments are commonly seen in contortionists and in yogis in particular.

it truly is a real word. although, double-jointed each and anybody isn't actually double jointed. It has extra to do with elasticity of ligaments, tendons, and muscular tissues. If someone had extra joints than typical, then...properly, they could both be too versatile (and can want to likely crumple) or unable to flow in any respect.
