If you wash it in HOT water, that should disinfect it enough. I would wash them separately from all other clothes. If you still want something extra, get detergent with bleach.

Oh, yeah, I remember the 'good ole days'. Thank God that's over! I remember putting ammonia in my wash. . .not sure how that would go with your laundry dtg. You could probably use the lysol by filling the washer with water and lysol, letting the clothes soak in it for 5- 10 minutes, then just putting it over to the rinse cycle before doing an actual wash. It's not a fun time, but it will pass soon. I think I would use lysol or something specifically on the soiled items, then wash all. I know I did that with the undies - I used a diaper pail for them. Good luck!

    I'm going through this currently.

I use a color-safe bleach such as Clorox 2. There are some clothes that just can't be washed in hot water, especially for a toddler, simply because primary colors seem to be somewhat the norm and I hate having red pants bleed into other clothing. By using a color safe bleach, I can get the cleanliness of a hot water wash while running a warm or even cool wash cycle and protecting my laundry.

An added benefit is that color safe bleach can be used as a soaking agent for those times when you just can't finish that load because you're waiting to add one more item to top it off.

Wash in the hottest temperature that is acceptable to the fabric and regular laundry detergent. Treat any stains with Shout or other pre-treatment. Add 1/4 cup of white distilled vinegar to the wash. This will remove the odor from the fabric as well as from the washing machine.

You can use Lysol, just a bit though, but what I use on my twins clothes is "OXY STAIN REMOVER" it comes in a blue spray bottle with a yellow nozzle, its awesome stuff for any kind of stain, white or colored, just spray on, leave on for 10 minutes and wash!! If the undies are that bad , I put them in diluted beach water for a bit then wash<if they are whites> Hope this helps you..

You defiantly need to bleach the whites like you said. I think if you wash out to clothing as well as you can, then you could always wash them in hot water by themselves. This is the best advice that I have for you. I think you are doing all the right stuff.

Lysol will not make it suds too much. You can use the concentrated Lysol in the brown glass bottle, or even the Lysol all purpose cleaner. I've used both in my laundry at one time or another.

Your best bet it to use all cotton which can be boil washed which will kill all of the bacteria without ruining your clothes just be carefull with the colours. Try and buy all insipid pastel colours which do not run or are not noticacle if they do. It will not last too long anyway.

just use a cupful of white vinegar in your normal wash.

The vinegar will neutralize the smell of urine.Believe me i use vinegar to wash my kids kooshie nappies and they come out of a normal tempertured wash beautifully clean and smell fresh but before i washed they stank phew!!!!!!!!.The kids pee is not like an adults so this way should be sufficient oh and yes you can wash them with other clothes as the vinegar will kill any bacteria . Best of luck in your decision.
