Who set the price for sin and why?

The price of sin. The result of sin is death, the price of sin is sacrifice. Why? Why didn't god decide that the price of sin would be ... say... a jelly donut? When Adam and Eve ate the fruit of the Tree, why didn't god say "Ooooh you rascals you!" and laugh? Wouldn't life have been simpler then?

God set the price - long before Adam and Eve sinned.

Why a price? Why sacrifice? That is what I will ask Him first thing after I settle in Heaven.

For now I am thankful He did pay the price He Himself set and we can freely get to Him.

Adam and Eve disobeyed what God had told them, so there had to be a price paid. a jelly donut is ridiculous, sin is a serious deal and requires a serious price. what is the most serious price to pay? I would say death is about as serious as it gets. since not one person could pay the price for all God sent his sinless son to live a sinless life and die a horrible death ,take our sins upon himself and then abolish the sins of those who would accept his offering.

Choose you this day who you will serve.

GOD set the price for sin. He is creator of all that is good. Therefore since sin is bad, and the wages of sin is death, it took the ultimate sacrifice to pay and redeem us back to him. HIS SON's shedding of his blood and death because when he drank the cup in the garden, it was the wrath of GOD he was drinking. HE payed a debt he didn't owe because we owed a debt we couldn't pay. As for Adam and Eve, Adam was given the commandment not to eat of the tree of life and therefore was supposed to take charge of Eve because man is the head of woman and tell her he was not going to eat of the fruit of the TREE OF LIFE.

Don't try to understand God. He is far wiser than all of us put together. Just accept that GOD set the price of sin and GOD also paid the price for us. So I say keep your jelly donut, because for me, salvation is free.

I like your thought process, but a jelly wouldn't teach us a lesson, how about making us eat something like spinach or something gross for sinning??? I got it make us stand in the corner until we've learned our lesson. I think the death is the wages of sin thing really catches my attention. But I'd rather have the jelly donut.

Well here's the thing... God is sovereign, which means that he can do whatever he wants to do. He never makes mistakes, even though we think he could have done it a different way. His ways and thoughts are much higher than ours, so we must accept his plan and follow his teachings. Think about it this way... He's perfect in everyway, so just trust in him and know he is GOD.

St. Augustine is largely responsible for coining the term "original sin". He's the one that decided sex was a sinful, but necessary act.

    Grace unto you, and peace,

from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

    It's elementary(simple), dear watson:

Only the law imputes sin: Romans 5:13

Sin in turn imputes death: James 1:15

The 'wages' of 'law-imputed-sin' is death.

Thereby the law a "ministration of death".

Christ of J->C: "the end of the law"?

    - in him there is no law-imputed sin

    - he is our peace, who abolished the law

(contrary things can't co-exist in peace)

And what God our Saviour will & will not have:

    - God will have mercy(grace), and not sacrifice(law)

    - God will have all men saved AND aware of what from

Mt 6: Our Father...deliver us from "evil".

Rom 7:6 We are delivered from the "law".

What remains is y(our) awareness of it.

The "grace" of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

Most people ignore Christianity, so their life is very simple: do whatever I want. What is more simple than that? Granted, it leads to all sorts of consequences to those people and those around them, but that's life, right?
