before you spend hundreds (thousands?) having it tested, you should be sure to eliminate other possible sources of problems. if there is a building-related problem, most likely everyone else in the building would have a problem too. do they? did you start eating at a new local restaurant when you moved? stop & see if it goes away. was the building built in the 1920s or 1930s? if so, i bet you have lagustrum hedges (privet hedge) commonly planted then with new construction, makes lots of yellow pollen that makes breathing difficult for people who don't have asthma!

Housing Urban Development. health and Human Services. Both will come out and take a sample to a lab free. Most mold remediation companies will do it free also, in hopes of getting the job to clean it out. Leave the landlord out of it unless there is going to be a fee! Cleaning mold from a home is VERY expensive and I'm sure you can imagine what a landlord would do to avoid it. Maybe your local hospital will have a suggestion as what exactly can be done in your area! DO IT SOON!!! MOLD CAN KILL!!!

all houses have mold. the chances of getting sick from it are less than having a car crash. your local county health department is a good place to start as far as mold testing goes. dont use a cleaning company/mold removal company to test it unless you want some really slanted results.

dont DEMAND that your landlord do anything....thats a really bad way to start off.

1st, mold can be very serious to your health. Advise your landlord or owner and demand a test of your apartment.

tell your landlord or who ever runs the building about it. If they don't do anything I would talk to my lawyer
