Cleaning Stovetop Burners?

I have a Whirlpool stove that has ceramic coated cast iron stovetop burners. The burners are gray, the stove is white. Everything seems to discolor the burners and stick to them, no matter what it is. I'm a clean freak and it drives me crazy!! I've sprayed them with oven cleaner, scrubbed them with SOS pads, etc. Nothing really cleans them very good. Any suggestions of something really simple that I'm missing?

Update:

tkltafoya--I wipe the spills up immediately. I'm not obsessed over it, but the entrance to my house that everyone uses is directly into my kitchen, my stove is in plain view. It's not a fire hazard, but it's also not nice to look at. Because my burners are ceramic they are not meant to change color and it's not even that they are changing color, everything (including boiling water) sticks to them and won't come off. I am simply looking for a home remedy that I haven't come across. Thank you for your help anyhow.

Easy does it! Wipe up spills as soon as possible. Other than that--find something else to worry about! Stoves are made for cooking--not looking at! As long as the stove top is kept clean and isn't a fire hazard--it's fine! I know it looks funny to have the burners not be the original color--but if you read the paper work that came with your stove--it says they will change color with use! If it's really bothering you that bad, see if you can get a set of black burner covers--they don't discolor as easily with use!

Unfortunetaly everything will stick to the burners but i usually use some Comet and a brillio pad. Sprinkle the comet onto your stove and put a little bit of water onto the Comet cleaner making it kind of pasty use your brillio pad and scrub..Rinse burners with water and this should clean them and also give them a polish.

contact the dealer for the stove and ask them. They may have a special cleaning agent. If it is a gas stove then the burners remove easily and it is easier to clean them.
