Honey, the best thing that you can do is to go with what your heart tells you to do. Your best friend is either mad that he/she can't be with you. Ask your best friend why he/she is getting mad when mention this boys name. Find out if he/she likes you more than a best friend. Just talk to him.. he could still like you too he just doesnt kno how you feel. If he wants to stay with his gf o well whats the worst that could happen at least he would kno and maybe in the future something great could happen. If you guys are friends he'll understand. Its better to see how he feels than just keep wondering and wishing he knew.
