Gift suggestion for a friend's 2nd marriage?

My girlfriend I have known since high school is getting married for her 2nd time, but it is her fiance's first marriage. She is a successful doctor in her late 30's/early 40's and she also has a little girl from the 1st marriage.

I do not know if she is registered anywhere, so lets assumed she is not. She's getting married at the Bellagio in Las Vegas and she lives in San Francisco.

I do not wish to go to those engraving places and I do not wish to get a picture album or ordinary things like that, and I also do not want to give her cash.

I am not independently wealthy but am willing to spend $100-$150 on the couple. And I am not good with arts and crafts and do not plan to make her a quilt or anything like that.

Please read the description before answering. Remember I have to haul it to Vegas and she has to haul it to San Fran.

Update:

OK, some of these suggestions are so un-original.

A massage is a good idea but I perfer something a bit more personable and tangible.

The star gift is unique, but a bit cheesy? And a gift card is boring. I might as well give her cash so she isn't limited to one store.

It doesn't matter that I gave her a nice gift her 1st wedding, I want to give her a nice gift her 2nd time too.

Come on... Can't anyone come up with a unique gift that I can present to a successful professional?

I would call the Bellegio in Las Vegas and see if they can refer you to a spa-message place in town or they may have a masseuse at their location. This would be a relaxing time for them both to spend an hour each of total relaxation, and this would be in your price range.

This is the 21st century, all couples are registered somewhere. Just ask.

For a second time around wedding is not customary to splurge on a big gift if you have already spend big cash on a fist weeding. If you didn't, then you should oblige with a good gift.

If you don't wish to give them cash, a gift certificate from their favorite store. It's practical and it won't incurr in no storage or transportation issuues.

Whatever you decide, don't buy an appliance please! That is so 60's.

Since you've limited your options so clearly, a gift card to a store they both like, or a gift certificate to a nice restaurant is about your only option. You could spend as little as $50-$75 on a store/restaurant and it will be just as nice of a gift as a large, tangible gift that they may not even use. And moreso, you have to figure, if the person is a true friend, she won't care how much you spend or what you get her.

I'd donate money to a charity in the couple's name. Many organizations will recognize such a donation with a nice card or certificate. Alternately, you could name a star after them- I've always thought that would be a neat gift. The bonus? NO HAULING, NO CLUTTER!

There is a place online where you can have a real STAR named after the person or couple. It's around $75.00, and you get a certificate for framing & a map so you can find the star with a telescope. My Mom did this when my Dad died.
